There seem to be two main ways to build fighters. It appears that Higian build defensive characters that deal small amounts of damage over time while the enemy is unable to hit him thus winning the fight. Other players go for all out damage monkeys hoping that they can deal damage faster than the other guy. I though about it and built this build(no details ) at level forty standing naked this character has these stats STR 27 DEX 13 CON22 INT 16 WIS 8 CHA 13 AC 25 Hp 580 BAB 25 highest AB 34 Damage 1-3 +8 Fort 28 Ref 19 Will 24 Alignment Malefactor (50,0) DR 24/- Devestating critical Greatsword. Hehe what do you think? it will take a while to build and it has 0 room for error one skill point, stat point, or feat taken at the wrong level causes the whole thing to collapse. And since DR, DRe, and DIm Stack once i get ahold of some items for him he is going to be a lean mean tank of doom.... at levels 38-40

Bard/RDD/DD not in that order of course
and higan Is your abnormaly high amounts of damage due to server items or due to your build. I'm talking about designing a character "naked" then adding on items you may aquire on the server. For example base non magic weapon wise you can chart them out like so
Greatsword-L 2d6 9.1 Greataxe-L 1d12 7.8 Bastard sword-M 1d10 7.15 Heavy flail-M 1d10 7.15 Katana-M 1d10 7.15 Dwarven waraxe-M 1d10 6.6 Halberd-L 1d10 6.6 Scythe-L 2d4 6.25 Longsword-M 1d8 5.85 2-bladed sword-L 1d8 5.85 Battleaxe-M 1d8 5.4 Double axe-L 1d8 5.4 Spear-L 1d8 5.4 Warhammer-M 1d8 5.4 Dire mace-L 1d8 5.175 Light flail-M 1d8 5.175 Morningstar-M 1d8 5.175 Rapier-M 1d6 5.075 Scimitar-M 1d6 5.075 Short sword-S 1d6 4.55 Hand axe-S 1d6 4.2 Club-M 1d6 4.025 Kama-S 1d6 4.025 Mace-S 1d6 4.025 Quarterstaff-L 1d6 4.025 Sickle-S 1d6 4.025 Kukri-T 1d4 3.625 Dagger-T 1d4 3.25 Light hammer-S 1d4 2.875 Whip-S 1d2 1.725
(Name)(Dice)(Average Damage With crits)
i build w/o magic and items first then tack on anything i find as a bonus

Now it would be wise to decide on the equipment you'll use. Afterall, the equipments determines how well you'll do on HG

aye, while i tend to personally disagree with highend magic items(prefering to make items that work in more subtle ways, slayer knows what i'm talking about ;D ) I do understand the use of them and am currently taking an inventory of items to see which weapon will receave the devastating crit chain of feats
