Returning player in need of cd key authentication please

Hi guys,

returning after playing here a few years ago. I'm using the same GOG unique key that I had from back then but am also getting the error message. Is that because I forgot the password for my old account? I can see all my old characters. Username is Wulfyn.

It looks like you're using a different CD key from before.

Sorry to spam - yes it is still denying me access. Is there any way to rebind it to this key please?

No there is not. You mustn´t use the CD-Keys provided with the installation from GOG. Get your own personal keys or check your e-mails if you still have the ones you requested from that time from gog. If not write them one and request cd-keys for online playing.

Sorry if I am confused, but I think I am using the unique key that I requested and not the default installation one. I still have the email they sent to me with the personal key attached and I saved it in the NWN folder over-writing the old key. I'm sure this would have been the key that I was using before; I don't understand why it looks like I was using a different one.

I'm not sure what else to do, sorry.

Hmm check your login then. Very often people misspell their login (large and small letters e.g. exchanged). Other than that I guess only FunkySwerve could help you.

Good idea, will do that. I have also asked gog to resend the key just in case i was using an incorrect old one. At work now so will try later.

So GoG sent me another key, and I checked the data and it has different values in it, so I am now maybe wondering if the old email I found did not have the right key in it for some reason (which seems a bit weird as the emails are the same in content other than the key values differ). I tried the new key and now when I connect to the server it times out.

I am sure that I am using the correct username as when I used the old key I could see all my old characters in the server vault. I tried it with a different starting case letter and the characters were not there. However I am not sure that I am using the correct password (do I even need that for the gamespy bit?). But that username with the new key does not allow me to access the server; it just says no response and times out. Switching back to the old key connects back to the character selection screen and then fails the CD key authentication.

Really lost for options now.

It is possible for Funky to authorize your account to accept a new CD key, which would let you log-in and access your characters, but you would probably also need to request a transfer of your bank chests/wallet, which may or may not get approved since it takes a bit more time/effort.

Ah thanks, that would be awesome. I'm not so worried about the bank and wallet because I think the only things in there that were worthwhile were the racial books, and I have built a character from all of the good ones anyway. I figure all that stuff can just be gained again.
