Hi, I would ask some suggestion to build a rogue to play when I'm alone. (At this moment my first character is a druid ((ty Simpetar to help and explain 1000 time what cast in what run ect ect))) The idea is a character without buff I read this build: highergroundpoa.proboards.com/thread/20771I have "Whisper Gnome" (secret UltraRare subrace) - requires Gnome FC: Rogue DEX +4 INT +2 Free Feats: Sneak Attack (+1d6), Weapon Specialization (assassin dagger), +4 Hide, +4 Move Silently I can make some change to utilize Whisper but the assassin dagger specialization is lost ... It's avaible this build? A rogue can help party? Or it's better wait some better subrace to build something else?

Its better to go with casters for now. There isn't such a thing as a buffless class in relevant content I.e. this is a party module

Or if you want to solo as a meleer I would suggest a buff tank such as a paladin, blackguard, battle cleric, and the quasiclasses warchanter, staffmaster or bane knight.
Buff tanks can buff their own weapons unlike rogues or fighters so that a party is less necessary.

If you REALLY want to be able to open chests and solo, I highly recommend an elf wizard with a 1 level rogue splash at lvl 40. -S

That subrace is quite bad for rogue tbh, because assassin dagger is a terrible weapon for them and the sneak feat doesn't stack.
Edit: oh that one is a xbow build. It's outdated.

So this is too old like build.
Many thanks for tour suggestion!
Like I said my mai is a druid like suggested by Simpetar and i Have a young sorcer ( rakshasa, I'm following Raji build).
:-)
So battlecleric or Cot!
I'm sad because i woulk like ti play Rogue, still from GDR server I have this Dream
About quasiclass, they are Amazing but with open race the meele versione aren't so good.

Rogue suffers from 0 ways to buff itself or the party and there's nothing really worth unlock/search until end game that you can't get with a pixie familiar or some rogue splashed caster either. So it's not that great in small parties in legendary levels. End game rogues can do very good damage but if they're pure (for truly good sneaks) they simply must use a VERY pricy/rare tag-required divine power source else only 4 attacks (3base+1haste) aren't enough (with lvl 50 divine power, you'd get 6 atks/round); or forget about sneaks vs bosses/big foes and go 35/ + 4 fighter + 1 (monk if robed, pally if armored) splashed and focus on solid 2h damage, but quite gear intensive to keep decent ac/imms. Those aren't viable options until you start play those areas and collect such good gear first. As for lowbies (pre-60 and abyss, quite wide lowbie definition I know) rogues, they are as gear reliant as other tanks while not providing any damage edge over alternate builds so can't really suggest them as first tank. I had some newbie/open race ideas for level 60ish pure rogues forgetting about crippling strike and taking heavy armor feats for this, str based and full metal heavy hitters (that divine power works the same as the abyss cloak but it's very cheap, good enough for LLs), but lvls 1-50 aren't going to be much fun.

rogue is pretty disappointing as a stand alone toon to play, its weak in melee unless you have tonnes of good gear and its search/open/disable functions can be done by other builds that also have much better main uses (wizards/bards/clerics/rangers/sins etc).
if youre deadset on doing a tank as a new player id suggest a lash of hatred, an effective build can be made with average gear, it can buff itself to a reasonable degree (crit imm, cold/div/neg weapon buffs, foms, camo), it has party utility (inflictions, disarms), does good dmg (div might/favoured enemy/para weapon spec with cheap fighter splash), there are some cheaper/open races that can be used and its pretty fun to play as far as tanks go.

Both builds are outdated, the SD has 6 str, the pally has 7 dex. If you have either on a tank, you basically sign your death sentence in Hells, even in LLs it will make your tank existence miserable. SDs are in a bad position - they kinda always were, but people could get away with more creative and less powerful builds. The "good" SDs you may see these days are poster children of PLs and 2h weapons, bored rich boy indulgent builds. The pally could be ok, if not for the low dexterity. The little str increase and 10% fire from RDD pales in comparison what you could get from a fighter and HS splash and greater smiting is quite expensive on an open sub... but that would already be a different build altogether
