Forgive me if something like this already exists but a key ring would be nice to store all your keys in one place.

stormchaser's spreadsheet is still up, so the brunt of the outsourceable work is already done

Forgive me if something like this already exists but a key ring would be nice to store all your keys in one place. Some of us have a cumbersome but better than floating keys solution to this; keybags. Grab a bag and put all relevant keys there and name the bag according to it's use like lvl 1-25, thankeys and so forth.

We could implement this. The main obstacle is coming up with a list of all the keys. For each, we would want the following information:
1. Where and how the key drops (ie, in a chest, from a critter), including (correct and full) area name 2. The name of the key 3. What it opens (again with full and correct area name)
The scripts themselves are simple, but would need to encompass myriad keys from all over the module. Also, it would probably only store keys that are not consumed on use - mainly so that you can easily see what keys you have for the area you are (probably) currently running). Fastest way to get the above information is probably to open up the inventory of a toon with all the keys, and list them off here with as much of 1-3 above as you can, for everyone to help fill in.

like i said above with link provided ... a lot of this was already done years and years ago from my review, that spreadsheet accounts for all keys that would be useful/desirable to have on a keyring (as well as many--aka consumables--that don't, for completeness' sake). if there's any missing, maybe someone else can spot them. in other words the information-gather part of the project is basically done, even has resrefs

The vast majority of the non-consumable keys (that I can think of, at least) are found very close to the target door and generally won't be used again after the quest/tag is complete. The only keys that I bother hanging on to for more than a few minutes are the Drow Wardstone and Black Sun Symbol.
How big of an issue is this really? I mean if a key ring can be coded in a couple of minutes then sure why not, just saying that I've never once thought "I really wish I had an easy way to store my Half-Orc Bandit Chief key!"; most of the keys on the spreadsheet are just as useful as that one is.

That's why I asked for the information that I did. It's not worth a couple hours of dev time hunting it down. I have a volunteer I'm helping learn to code handle it, though we still need some of the information I listed. Also, some items listed are not actually keys.
