Just an observation, should you decide on quarterstaves, the game won't let you dual wield two staves. It is part of the engine, not part of the module.

Have u looked at the recent builds on forums? There is a decent shadowndancer build and monk build, u can easily modify them to fit ur subs

One thing to bear in mind is that Minotaur has FC Ftr and BC Cleric, Thri-Kreen has FC Druid and BC Monk so depending on the build you choose you could be losing a load of bonus exp unless you manage to fit a Cleric level (not optimal) into your Minotaur monk whereas unless you take two non-prestige classes (not including Druid) on your Thri-Kreen you'll get a minimum 10% bonus. That's 12 million less to get to level 80!

20 monk levels is a huge win as you don't need to worry about specific mind immunity effects gear. The posted endgame monk build is about as good as you'll get without moving into XR race territory but its not really doable with UR or lower tier races without taking a big hit on your effectiveness. Don't use a quarterstaff on a medium size character as you'll lose the off hand slot which can be used for torches and it is the only weapon when used 2h that doesn't give you a damage boost. Unarmed can be OK (you won't have to worry about being disarmed or slagged) but you'll lose the gloves slot and that's effectively 10% (or more) physical immunity at least until you are able to use some of the end game monk gloves. If you want auto keen you'll need to go 40 Monk which limits your options, if you want +16 auto AB boost on your gloves you'll need to hit 42 Wis (including gear +) so you'll need to get your Wis up to 20 prior to all boosts from achieving max level and demigod status. Str based monks lose AC but gain physical immunity and situational critical hit immunity. Dex monks have good AC but lose the physical immunity bonus Choices, choices!

If you are going for pure Monk its the only large weapon available (unless you take other weapon proficiency feats) but it has a crit range of 20 and a multiplier of x2 whereas there are a load of other large weapons with much better crit potential if you splash classes that give you access to them. One of the biggest benefits of a good monk build is that it can give you the ability get 40% more damage when using a 2h weapon whilst keeping your AC in the acceptable zone as you gain it from both Dex and Wis, although the Minotaur build will suffer on this front due to the racial Dex reduction. Other builds that would normally equip a shield generally lose significantly more AC when going 2h.

It is a specific piece of programming in the game engine relating to quarter staves. They cannot be wielded on handed because the game won't allow it.

There are (currently at least) only 2 huge weapons Mercurial Greatsword and Lance, as piercing damage is of less use than slashing and that the lance looks like a disturbingly large toothpick I'd suggest using the MGS. It is possible to make the something resembling End Game Monk build highergroundpoa.proboards.com/thread/25081 using Minotaur start with stats Str 16 Dex 16 Con 10 Int 14 Wis 10 Cha 8, you can fiddle with these values, (if you want better Con, Wis or Int you could drop Dex to 14 then use your first two stat points to raise it back to 14) but you will need a minimum of 13 in both Dex and Int to be able to get the Weapon Master requirement feats and odd stats just feel wrong! Don't forget the 4 points in Intimidate! Pre-Epic Feats in order Creation: Strong Soul, Dodge (You get Power Attack as a Free Feat with Minotaur) 3: Mobility 6: Spring Attack 9: Expertise 11: Weapon Proficency Exotic (Ftr Level) 12: Whirlwind Attack, Weapon Focus Mercurial Greatsword (Ftr Level) 15: Improved Critical Mercurial Greatsword, Weapon of Choice Mercurial Greatsword (WM Level) 18: Great Cleave 21: Epic Weapon Focus: Mercurial Greatsword 24: Weapon Specialization: Mercurial Greatsword, Epic Weapon Specialization: Mercurial Greatsword (Ftr Level) After that its up to you how you tweak it
