Help Scott Milliorn Beat Cancer - GoFundMe
Hello Higher Ground NWN. My name is Scott Milliorn. I go by Milliorn in NWN. I been in NWN since 2003. You may know me from somewhere else in NWN. Acting on Funkyswerve's approval and suggestion I am posting here about my recent health crisis.
July 18th, 2018 I was diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma. Since then I have had two operations. One was to remove the cancer which was located on my left Great Toe. It required an amputation of my toe. If I am lucky, that is all they will have to take although it was mentioned I could lose up to my knee if it spread beyond that region of my leg as in got into my bones. Same day, I had four lymph nodes removed from my mid section. One diseased lymph node in my upper left leg in the quad section. Another three in my abdominal section to make an attempt to gate off the progression. Yes, it had spread, and so far no additional tumors has been detected. Second surgery was to install a port into my chest that links between my heart and head and taps into that artery. After the first surgery with a round of testing I was diagnosed as Stage 3.
Since August of 2018 I been on medical leave. I've had to recover from the amputation, torn quad muscle and flesh removal in that area, torn ab muscle, and from the port installment. I pushed myself to walk as soon as possible, and after my port installment in late September I been back at the gym (I am an avid weightlifter/powerlifter). I'm not 100% from what I was, but I am getting back on track.
I have been on medical leave ever since. I have depleted my finances to finance all this. Against advice given early on, I resisted until now to do a GoFundMe campaign. I thought I could finance all this. I thought I was going to be allowed to go back to work at the end of September to pay for it all. I am now going into debt in credit cards because I don't have any collateral property to put up for loans. I had to let go of a lot of pride to start that fundraiser and accept the fact that I need help.
If I can't pay for the treatment prescribed to me which estimates a survival rate/remission/cure up to 80% my rate of survival plummets to 10-40% chance to survival over a span of 2-5 years.
I have known Funkyswerve on NWN since HG launched the Legendary Levels System. I have used that system along with Simtools all these years. Funkywerve has been very sympathetic and kind to allow me to post this on these forums in hope that the HG community would pull together to help me out. If you cannot help out, what you can do to help is to pass the link onto your social media accounts so others can see it and hopefully help out with the fundraiser or at least pass the links which is also of great help to me.
The link above is the link to the fundraiser. It has a summary of what I went through with pictures to show what this disease can do to you of any age, health, or genetics. It may shock you, and it should, because then you will gain awareness of why this is such a deadly disease that needs a cure, along with people that suffer from this disease needs your help. This can happen to you too. I was once like you, and thought this could not happen to me.
Thank you for reading this far. To all those that offer help, I greatly appreciate it and again thank you so much.
