No my ISP is still the same, and my ISP either gives me the same IP address, or assigns me a new one, but that hasn't affected it before.

[glow=red,2,300]Ok.. i have an idea to KILL the lag just get rid of the mass small loot.. (eg. dung arrows... who needs them?) its always left on the ground anyway... that should slaughter the lag greatly in all areas ... another suggestion... add a merchant with nothing to sell.... so when people sell thier treasure , they wont lag out the hole server!!! [/glow]

New NPC will anyway add to the lag. What I've seen done before is to have a 'sell chest' where you drop in your treasure to sell it. The script run on closing the chest calculates a cost and pays you out - then deletes the items from the mod. IIRC it is fairly simple to implement, and can be implemented in a central area (say the bank in each location). The merchants then either cannot buy OR only offer 1gp regardless of item value..
This does mean that you cannot buy that item, this can be solved by a simple check to see if the item is in the chest already then remove the previous one and add the new one only [but as long as the merchants have limitless stock this is not really needed].

hmm i believe it would cause alot less lag still... even something as simple as a Divineing pool would work i think.. heh and i see you have no objections to the kill the small mass loot? ;D *edit* im not saying placeable like a chest with a money/delete script... just make a regular merchant (any model you please, chest, npc,...Tree... ) with a delete script it wont have to calculate the price then

I persoanlly don't have problem with destroying mass small loot. It is more like D&D with it in, but my DM never started hiccuping in the moddle of a game when there were too many things going on. My only concern with ditching small drops is that ppl take a hit in their pocket books. Those dung arrows are worth ggod cash to a lvl 6 if you get them all. Those fire arrows that the bugbears drop are how most archers keep a good supply going at lower levels. I think in this instance we need a vote or at least to be selective about what we eliminate. If a couple of more ppl reply to this in favor of ditching some small loot in favor of better server performance then we'll get a poll going on a new thread. If it's a majority in favor, we'll then set about the task of figuring out which drops to get rid of. As far as selling goes, most old school sellers go to the armor and weapon merchants in town. They don't sell anything valuable and they buy back at the best prices. If you aren't already doing so.....when you get back to town go those shops (the 2 across from the inn) to sell. If necessary, I'll jack decrease the buyback rate at the other shops to "encourage" this behavior. We'll never ELIMINATE lag....we can only reduce it. I'm not in favor of spending an hour creating a chest that decreases the ping rate by 2 if at all instead of just going to those shops to sell. If, however, the reduction is significant, then that's a different story. I can just see a line of ppl now standing fron of a chest waiting to use it, like it's giving out BJs. As a long time pnp DM it goes against every voice in my head to create these facilities with the SOLE intention of reducing lag. I've learned to ignore these voices however......and it hurts. If the reduction is significant then I'm all for it. Lemme know what you guys think.

The Rowans Tree appears to have changed, and is now not properly lined up over the bright red glowing light. It makes it look rather silly, actually.

actualy no, all the town guards were gone, the guards that walk around were near the north gate, probably from someone who attack the tree earlier and ran, and the priest was between the weapon shop and merchants emporium, nothin was there to stop them

yeah...that's....uh...that's too bad....*cough
jk. I know that's frustrating. I'm poring through the scripts right now seeing if I can find the bug. No promises tho. I think some of these Bioware guys used to work for Microsoft. It's like the code is intentionally confusing.

maybe the stay logged in time is under 1 second, i suggest you check the box marked "stay logged in"
and about the stolen loot; there are two shops in the game that buy stolen loot. The one located at bandit camp(must be evil) and the one at Encombria(201+ items). I believe Dragon's CEP shop(heavily guarded) also buys stolen loot but only at 5% of the price
