Thoughts about xp. My idea for weapons wasn't popular so this probably won't be either.
How about an xp wallet. When you delete a toon, the xp from that toon would go into a wallet tied to that account. Then you could use that xp on any of your other toons. Not like doing a proxy to pick up missed tags. Not like doing a reincarnation either. My toons are usually worse after I try to reincarnate. I'm sure everyone has toons that they just quit playing. Plus that would help free up server space.

I think u might underestimate the inner nerd of some of the HG players. Some could delete one toon and have exp worth 4-5 level 80 toons in their wallet and thats a conservative estimate based on my own toons, i bet there are even bigger nerds out there. It would also punish players who went reincs in the past. :/

rainbowdash - I think you have to live in the present for this sort of thing. Yes, I could have benefited from this if I had not taken that action in the past, but it was a satisfactory action AT THE TIME. That said, I don't think this should be a one for one exchange if it were implemented. With items like the 'thids Storm wand, it is fairly easy for the target audience to speed run up to LL as it is.

Stopping forward progress or the growth of the module because of what was done by someone in the past is counterintuitive. Nothing would ever progress.
I would support a variation of this idea. But, the last thread any related concept of this idea was discussed a poster made a good a point that any new idea which allows players to skip some set of content entirely hurts the module.
I agree and disagree with their remark. I don’t like the lowbie experience and my impact there is very little even when I do, do it. But, others taking advantage of such an idea who do help the lower experience could deplete the resources available to new players.
I think an idea like this ultimately works against the communal aspect a lot of players have mentioned in multiple threads lately.

Try a search for 'xp bank'. This idea has been discussed and discarded, and I don't think anything relevant has changed in the interim.

Technically a similar effect would be attained by adding in sapphire-like objects in the game that are found earlier, provide somewhat less but are also more common.
Two examples: - Once per character quest reward for a unbound 50k exp gem at ~~35-40 content in some obscure location, usable only by characters below 41 [this would be enough to hit lvl 10 straight on a new character, so just do one tag holding at 7 and then go for lvl 10 tags]. This could even require a sacrifice of 50k experience from the current character, but seems unnecessary. - UR gem with similar drop rate as Sapphire has in BUR tier; worth also 50k experience. This is purely because of how common URs are in endgame content, any more and they would overthrow Sapphires, but they would become a nice tool for leveling new guys or helping friends get up faster. Sapphires are so rare that very few have a lot of them amassed or to give away - which is good. But a lesser alternative wouldn't hurt imo.
And as for the deletion of toon to get anything above Sapphire-tier experience, that would end up very problematic and this has been discussed to death in other threads.

Remove the party 6-level restrictions, allow XP gain across huge level differences but reduce it for non-optimal members (e.g. max XP gain for a Level 10 member that is outside of the 6-level range is that of a CR10 monster) and scale based on highest group level so level 80s aren't farming level 10 zones to level newbies.

Have you guys played guild wars 1?
The game had 3 worlds - Ascalon Cantha Elona. In Ascalon it took like 25 hours to get to level 20. In cantha and elona it took about 6.
No player would create character on ascalon after the others were released because they didn't want to play lowbies. Do you see the parallel?
Maybe I miss the level 60 cap. The feeling of a complete character or build, a leveling field for character power. I guess the same inequality exist about Demi/abyss/limbo bonuses, subrace bonuses, random loot, ever higher tier loot. Or I just miss another game entirely.
I think that some people just would like to play higher leveled areas with different characters but not the lowest level ones. Since they can't, They don't play either anymore.

Thank you all for your input. Most of my toons are lvl 50 and below. I quit playing most of them because I just wasn't happy with them. I would hate to delete 50 toons or so and lose all that xp that I spent all that time earning. I won't post anymore thoughts or ideas. I'll just keep plugging along.

Papamike, reincarnate these toons. Then you get to KEEP the experience and make a toon you like. If you need help reincarnating, tell us the toons and we can suggest guides you can follow so you do not get weaker after reincarnation. Problem solved!

No one told you not to post ideas, and it is not personal.
If you don't ask, the answer is automatically no. You asked, you had a good idea and a good argument. It just wasn't compatible with the existing dynamic.
Keep providing your thoughts, they Do have value.
Finally, I agree with Prepared, reincarnate. That allows you to reuse XP, although you will lose some unless you make an Undying.
