When getting this unusual lag, everything seems to pause and a moment later all the actions happen very quickly. It's survivable, but challenging. On rare occasions it will pause too long and dump me out of the game. In the task manager, it looks like the connection is getting packet loss (no data then larger spikes), yet it does not seem to affect anything else (not properly tested). CPU usage seems to be normal (task manager). I can not determine any pattern, other than it seems like I am the only one affected (harder to prove). Is this a local problem? Possibly a corrupt file... Otherwise everything seems good. All HGE files seem to be beta 28, except dialog.tlk in the sub folder, which has a different filesize for some reason.
I don't think anything on the PC has changed, except possibly a Windows update at some point...

Sounds like internet connection problems more than anything else. Try ping www.google.com -t in command line and see if there are no packets during your lag spikes. No packets - conenction issues, most likely on the provider side.

I noticed I had the monitors set to 120hz for something else, backing that down to 85hz seems to be problem free. Just the occasional, regular lag,
