I admit that I am still a newb, but I have several thoughts on story line, and would be surprised if nobody else did. I guess I like immersion and role-play. There are several bits that have seemed jarring to me
There seem to be some breaks in the plot threads:
- The wizard who gives you the hero crystal when you bring back Hendron's handiwork makes no mention of Hendron when you find Hendron's tower
- The thief in Rip's suddenly starts talking to me as if she had sent me on a quest to retrieve a rogue stone, even though I had never talked to her before. I can't seem to learn anything more about this supposed thieves guild, now.
* Side note (Spoiler): [ Why does the first spider cave use a pick pocket check in the North East corner to find the guild?]
- How would I know that the wonderful item importer shop keeper is looking for Gems? I just start offering them at a special price with no intro.
- Nobody seems to care about the complete takeover of the East road by bandits. They don't even comment when I return with the bandit chiefs sword. I would have expected that as a quest, or at least a teaser.
- Nobody Cares about all the Kobolds about to swarm, nor care that you thwarted them by killing the animator. I would have expected that as a quest, or at least a teaser.
- The defiled tomb is a complete blank slate, even though we went through the trouble of creating a special burial plot with children's toys, a named sword and a revenant that is upset at being disturbed.
- The Corpse Lord story is revealed in documentation, but you would think that at least the sage would comment on him when you bring back his arm, or the Sherrif/captain dude when you show the notes.
* Side note: Is there some reason why I cannot put one of the notes in my transfer chest?
- Nobody seems to care about the Black dragon disciple
* Side Note: Does the novitiate seal actually do anything? I had hoped it openned the paintings that spam magic missiles at you, but I guess that magic missiles is all they do, until they get broken.
* Side Side Note: Is there anything I can do with those paintings, other than break them?
- Who the heck is Hazel, and why is she out there living alone
- Who is "The other guy" that the clumsy shopkeeper at Rip's replaced? Did I forget something from an earlier run?
Also, I admit that I am very early in this adventure, but is there a pay-off at the end of all those fetch quests from the docks?
