Rhazhids chests are mostly trapped dummy items with no contents, they are ancient history so no idea what the original purpose (if any) was? You need to be either the right class and/or right alignment (can't remember as its not somewhere I've been for ages) to get into the bandit camp.

Thank you!! Okay, so what we have at the moment is: Not yet explained: - Snow Covered Fields: There is a locked crypt in the Southwest that cannot be opened or entered. - Bone Horde: In a room in the Northwest there is an evil altar whose trigger is too far to be accessed. Additionally, it has a chest of gold on it that cannot be reached - Thieves Camp: (This area is North of the boat ramp) The door to the camp might possibly only open for a certain class/alignment combination, but, if so, the combination is not known - Drow Sewers: There is a control panel that does not seem to do anything when you click on it. Explained: - Drow Tunnels: The chest on the opposite side of the Pit of Moliation pit trap is an empty red-herring to make you fall into the pit.
- Anduin Chapel: The stuck lever before the catacombs is a hold over from "Paths of Ascension" and has no use, now
- Goblin Burrow: There is an unopenable chest that is merely a red-herring so that you get trapped by the boulder falling over the exit (at which point you get peppered by goblins flingers on the other side of the water)
- Rip's Tavern: The door to the upstairs is only accessible by DM's when they want to meet
- Rhazid's burial chamber: The treasure room in the Northeast has several unopenable chests. These are just dummy chests.

As far as I know:
The snow covered fields crypt never did anything, just ignore it.
Thieves Camp was orginally an entry point to the secret thieves den. This is now accesed through the rogue stone on another location. It is a remain without function.
One of the panels in the drow sewers I am aware of, gives you a quest item for one of the docks quest givers.

I have to say that if you find unopenable doors frustrating you are going to hate Maladomini and some of the city maps in the Abyss as there are a profusion of them there

D'oh! Thanks, paradoom. I remember the docks quest, now (I lost all my quests when I reincarnated, and forgot about that one) Do you know where the rogue stone gets used for the thieves guild? Is it the entrance in the spider cave? Chainlink, Thanks for the heads up! I'll keep that in mind as I explore. I have always been more of a world/story explorer than a power-gamer. HG may be tilted towards the latter, but it still has phenomenal depth and breadth for the former! :-D

I am deliberetly vague in some answers, as those are spoilers. But yes the spider cave is the entrance for the rogue den.

I have found another one. In the ancient cave (just before the ancient maze) there is a door to the Southwest of the portal to the maze. It says I need a special key. Is that key still present in the module?

It's a riddle...examine the door and speak the answer and it will open.

D'oh! That was totally my bad. I will be sure to always examine any future locked things! Thank you.

I just found the maps page on the wiki! wiki.hgweb.org/wiki/MapsAccording to the maps, the thieves den in the spider cave is different from and not attached to the thieves camp, which is north of the boat ramp. Are you sure that they were originally together in PoA and that the thieves camp is now just a vestigal remainder that was not snipped when the thieves den was moved?

The bandit/thieves area you need first to be evil aligned and then chop the head off the staff in front of the gates to gain access not much in there worth worrying about but if you wish to explore the theives in there will steal from you given the slightest chance... You will be able to sell stolen items but it is generally not worth the effort ...
As for the door in Rips or tresspassers tavern as was it just led to an empty room ...

Anduin's? Staff of Ascension? The worth is not in the loot! Like Mount Everest, the drive is "because it was there"! :-D If you let me know which staff, I can go and condemn the unknown hero to become evil, then try it out. (I have wanted to become evil to try Elysium, as well. I can always bury the unknown hero later to become good, again)

I found a new, minor, door. The barn in the Ascension docks has one of its stalls locked, requiring a specific key. I do not see anything on the other side, but it seems odd that two gates open, but that one of them requires a specific key.

Okay. Main thieves guild hit Clicking on the skull on a post while evil gives you a thieves key that opens the door.
