New Player, many Questions...

Hello there,

as mentioned above I am new to the Server...and more or less to the entire D&D system (played NWN a long Time ago).

The most pressing Question, or rather Problem I have, is that I can't read the Wiki Site. It eather shows me a List of Warnings:

Yes the main Wiki page is broken, but they are working on it and hopefully it will be fixed soon. In the meantime, use backup site 158.69.144.21/wiki/Main_Page

It is hard to find out where to go as someone new to this. But following the "Accomplishments" seems to work just fine so far.

About those Sub-Races, as far as I understand it, you find Books in the World to unlock them? Do they drop anywhere from a certain point, or do I have to do special Things for it?

First of all: welcome

Second of all, your question:
1. Open subraces are available to you from the start, there is no special in-game requirement. Just make sure you select the correct base race and correctly fill the subrace field during character creation. Once you arrive in the docks, it will take a few seconds and the edits will be applied.
2. Secret subraces are available generally after immortality / in low lvl 40 areas. You will need two Things (as you put it ) and go to a Place. Can't elaborate too much on forums. There are 2 exceptions to this: Minotaur and Thri-Kreen subraces come from books that you can read at level 50.
3. Ultra-rare (UR) subraces all come from books. These books may drop as random loot from areas of level 40 and above. You need to be level 50 to read them.
4. Beyond Ultra-rare (BUR) subraces also come from books. They drop as random loot from areas of lvl 60 and above. You need to be level 60 to read them.
5. Extremely Rare subraces (XR) can be purchased (gambled for) for currency from the very end game runs. You need to be level 80 to read them.

Once you unlock a subrace, it will be marked on your account forever. You can make as many characters with it as you wish; they are not for one use.

Bit of clarification on Simp's #1 - You have to get the spelling exactly as it is displayed, including all capitals in the name. eg: Minotaur, not minotaur

Or go have a look at the market chests on server 111 as there are usually a few books for sale or auction there

It's a really big server so be patient....it will take you a few times through to get a feel for it.

In the meantime, the server map is available on the temporary wiki: 158.69.144.21/wiki/Maps

As you noted, the lowby accomplishments are a great way to find your way around the server as well: 158.69.144.21/wiki/Accomplishments

Just for some perspective....outside a few set drops, subraces are not easy to acquire, you will have to put in some hours to get them. You can also buy them in the market: info.hgweb.org/marketlist.html. Don't be too scared by the prices....you acquire a significant amount of gold post level-50.
