Testing was done on numerous [test] builds and my own GI (20/20 cc rogue, lvl 60 at that time). Listed in no particular order of importance:
1. Most bombs do not work under water. Message "water quells the flames of your spell" appears. Exceptions are (as far as I could tell on a 20/20 build): Cussers (curse song), Easers (bard song) and Shockers (couble damage Scintillating Sphere; this one actually zaps the party) 2. Bombs do not get more than 25 charges, even those that are supposed to go up to GI/2, i.e. Cussers, Easers and Blowers. 3. Bombs do not get any sort of damage increase from Craft Trap, or any other skill. Tested on Shockers (double damage Scintillating Sphere) and Clappers (Great Thunderclap); both should do CLd6 damage and they were averaging at around 215 damage per use, both with 0 and max Craft Trap. 4. Stun effect from Crackers (Soundburst-like effect with additional save vs. deafness and no damage) wears off too quickly. It ends after 3 seconds, as opposed to real Soundburst that lasts 2 rounds.
