I just had an issue today where my internet briefly dropped out during a thids run (no more than 2-3 minutes) Just before it dropped out I had killed one of the enemies that drops a key... on logging back in, there was no key on the floor so my run was toast. Super frustrating experience I assume that the instance de-spawn timer is in there for performance reasons? Is that still a concern?

I am pretty sure it is a part of an antiexploit, nothing to do with performance. It was quite a battle to get *some* sort of leniency time in the first place, for instance while resting in ppd.

It is, there is a despawn timer for both creatures and items (approximately three minutes but don't quote me on that), it used to be instantaneous, it is unfortunate if you have a drop out but that's the nature of online play and to an extent soloing stuff. At least if you were in a party others may not have crashed out and been able to retrieve the items.

If my memory serves me correctly in the past the despaw was after 1 minute, it was increased to 3 minutes in the event that the player crashed had time to re-log, which was of course very appreciated by all the players, but I doubt that 'it is good to go beyond these 3 minutes to avoid abuse.

Yeah, Thids is not friendly to the soloer... so many systems that punish you for trivial things like crashes or forgetting to pickup the rods. It seems like oinos & elemental plains are the only places 'intended' for solo play... I just wish oinos wasn't so god damned boring... It totally needs a boss or something like ele plains. The best thing would be for people to actually play with in my timezone though... Everything is so group focused its really hard to keep interested when there's no one else around. Maybe if there was some more engaging solo content, people would actually be online and around and groups could form...

No it was instantaneous despawn changed to 3'ish minutes.
