Universal saving throws bonus caps at +20, individual cap is +25 (if you can stack them that high), they are working fine.
However, saving throws vs. specific effects (cold, death, spells, etc.) are supposed to cap at +30. They seem little wonky.
I made a wizard in training halls, to test how high save vs. spells can go. Every 5 points of Spellcraft (including all modifiers) give +1 to saves vs. spells, this is vanilla NWN mechanic. Protection from Spells (wizard, lvl 7) gives +8 vs. spells to multiple allies. I ran several combinations of PfS and varying amounts of Spellcraft. The results were following (according to "!list saves", substracting the unmodified value from specific "vs. spells" value):
1. PfS -> +8 vs. spells 2. 60 Spellcraft -> +12 vs. spells 3. 60 Spellcraft + PfS -> +20 vs. spells 4. 80 Spellcraft -> +17 vs. spells 5. 80 Spellcraft + PfS -> +25 vs. spells - this seems as far as it goes 6. 125 Spellcraft -> +25 vs. spells 7. 125 Spellcraft + PfS -> +25 vs spells
The 7th result seems strange. Any Spellcraft of 110 and higher in combination with Protection from Spells should reach the cap of +30, but it never exceeded +25. It was a test character, so I did not have access to gear or other buffs, but it should not have any effect on the result.
Can somebody please clarify what the caps are, or what went wrong? The test is repeatable, but I may have done a mistake.
