Are there two rulers of every elemental plane?

Are the elemental rulers chosen at random, or is there some action/situation that determines if you get the good or evil one?

I have faced the evil fire prince four times, the good water prince 3 times and the good air and earth prince/sses  2 times.  I have fought them while evil and while good.  I never get a good fire princess or evil water, air and earth prince/sses

I mean, sure, there is a 1 in . . . 128? . . . chance that after the first round, I face the exact same rulers on the next 7 tries, but I am starting to think that they have been set for me.

When the princes were added, they were tied to which portal to earth or air was initially opened. Unfortunately that was changed, I believe it is a random chance for which one will appear. I have tagged a lot of characters, I think my record for most tries to get the needed prince was 9. When I have had those long streaks of not getting the needed prince I would try all sorts of different things in hopes of some outside influence on the prince, I do not believe any were successful.

I tagged quite a few of my toons as well, this is my observation: the boss alignment matches your alignment on the good-evil axis when you open the portal. That's true for solo play, can't really give an insight on how it works in party.

That may have done it!!!!  I am always opening the air portal.  I tried the earth portal this time and, although I still got the good water prince, this time I got the evil air prince!!!

I will experiment more tomorrow.
