Are there any tables for how animal companions and familiars advance as you take legendary and paragon levels (and any additional HG enhancements before then?)
(As you might guess, I am particularly curious about pixie rogue skills. :-D )

Pixie at 40 is the same as the Pixie at 60 (or 80) at least from a what it can open point of view, the only use I've had for a Pixie past 40 is opening the door in the Defiled Temple to get to the Ssithrak areas. If you really want to open stuff take a Rogue level and be Elf base so you can use the Able Learner ability to max Rogue skills in LL although you will need plenty of Int to do it.

there's two runs for which a pixie can serve as an actual rogue replacement...
lolth...it can grab the crown. (doable at 40, pretty sure earlier actually, i may have seen 30somethings do it; but there's not much reason to be under L40 by the time you're done with lolth anyway)
hive...it can find the traps. (not sure what minimum level for this is, nor do i recall the trap dcs there, but at any rate it's a much worse solution than using a pc that can do the job, because of the need to keep the pixie alive, which does require effort, time, finesse, and usually extra unnecessary resting to resummon it if it dies, which wasn't uncommon for me)
i'd rate acquiring immo crown as: extremely nice (overpowered, really, but who's complaining); detrapping hive as: technically nice but almost worthless in practice; as for opening defiled temple: it's nice too, but also not a big deal either (you can just firewall the door anyway, and you can do that in gs without killing anything, whereas summoning a pixie means triggering aggro)

Max pixie can search for some low LL run secrets, like Loca, Toyshop, Tragidore, or Myco. Every time she finds something, you need to have her killed and loot the secrets from her corpse, or you won't get anything. Such is the familiar's destiny.

Pixie @20: Open Lock: 45 Search: 41 Disable Trap: 44 Pixie @40 Open Lock: 75 Search: 71 Disable Trap: 74 Pixie @50 Open Lock: 85 Search: 81 Disable Trap: 84 Pixie @60 Open Lock: 95 Search: 91 Disable Trap: 94 It stops after 60.

Nice investigation although the outcome is effectively the same, if you want to open stuff make something with Rogue levels.

Outcome is the same for handling chests. You can still run with a sorc or wiz and keep your pixie getting pwned to find secrets. There are quite a few low-mid LL runs with 110 DC secrets and the familiar can get them (even after shackling if the run / loot needs it).

Thanks! I am such a newb. I completely forgot I could create a [TEST] toon to check. Anybody know what companion skill buffs are available to a wizard or sorcerer (through spells or items?) Bard song would help, but that isn't available on an item.
Oh, on an unrelated note, does anybody know if familiars, animal companions, summons and/or doms count for areas that scale spawns to party size?

You can push the pixie @60 a little higher with int and dex buffs. Still can't make it use tools so it can't open the thids second bio.

Oh my goodness! I was just testing is companions, summons and doms can increase mob count in Oinos. I hadn't cast summon creature in ages. I thought it scaled with caster level but it seems to scale with character level!
Are there any charts for summon advancement?

You are readding way too much into small samples, you can get paragon (Greater, Superior, Elite) mobs with one character Oinos, Demi count and character level have a significant effect on the paragon iterations possible for mobs you encounter with a huge random factor also included. There are hard caps on the specific creatures you can encounter depending on the number of characters (not including summons) in party e.g. you will never get a Rakshasa or a Babau with 1 or 2 characters.

Oh, I meant that my summons had powered up. Instead of summoning a badger, I was summoning wisps with 700 hp. My toon only has 10 druid levels, so 700hp seems high. I was wondering if summons scale with character levels. Or maybe they get a bump for any character that is legendary. I was wondering if there is a chart for how summons increase with level.
