First, I'd like to recognize and appreciate the revolutionary UPDATE 2022-07-07, which has, at long last, implemented a paradigm-shifting feature which many have dreamed of for years on end.
I refer, of course, to:
Now why, you may ask, is this such a big deal? Why do I use dramatic language like paradigm shifts, in reference to this change?
The answer to both these questions is simply that this update "fixes" something that was "broken" and hopelessly-outdated.
At one time, it likely made sense for HG's timed-lever synchronization paradigm to exist. (This is debatable, but I think it was defensible enough).
However, I believe that most people began feeling that the concept no longer served as an effective barrier for gatekeeping a long, long time ago.
Further, once these levers lost credibility as a device for balance, they began to function more as a completely artificial and arbitrary mechanism that had little positive impact, while at the same time resulting in limitations that didn't make sense and were unreasonably punitive. Again, the point in time at which those levers stopped being anything more than arbitrary and punitive, was long in the past.
I think it's time to--for once and for all--do away with HG's venerable, time-honored tradition of rusty, clunky, time-sensitive levers. Yes, mod-wide. This means unlocking not just BP, but all the other runs which are primarily identified and distinguished by their inclusion of levers which require synchronized clunking.
Lolth, Tia, Thids, and even Toyshop should all be released from the oppressive bondage of Clunk that has weighed down players for decades.
At this point, I don't think there is any grounds left for a reasonable argument to keep any of these systems in place. I could be wrong, and I am open to debate, of course; so if you disagree, please feel free to respond with #KeepTheClunk and let me know why you think some of these other levers don't deserve to be set free from the despotic "You Must Have This Many Players To Proceed" regime.
If you support my assertions, re-tweet with #NoMoreClunk and tell the world why soloing tia, lolth, and thids should be allowed, just like pyramid.
Similarly, if my rationale and argument isn't clear, I'd be happy to elaborate on why I feel like the old system is long past its expiration date, and why this update finally provides us with the momentum to move forward and abandon that old system.
I refer, of course, to:
-Pyramid run should now be soloable (longer delay on levers)
