For 2023, I wish you all and your families the best that life can bring, health, love, happiness, joy, success and prosperity.
If I would have one wish for this new year it would be that people never forget that even small actions do not mean small effect.
We often use the image of the butterfly that flaps its wings in one part of the world and has consequences on the other side of the world to explain that every action we take is not extinguished. The same is true for all our actions, some of which may seem insignificant, such as holding a door, smiling at a person, making a joke, etc. Everything we do can have a chain of positive or negative consequences. The more positive actions we do, the more likely we are to create a positive impact. With a smile, you can for example cheer up a person and this can have a whole positive effect. If we can't determine in advance which action will have an impact or not, doing even one is already giving a chance that there will be one and it's already better than nothing. If you find for example a piece of waste and you throw it away instead of leaving it there, it will always be one less piece of waste. If you help even one person, it may seem useless and temporary except that you never know what will happen to that person.
