had a good laugh there today. Me, Rip, Vil and other people between lvl15-21 went there to get the key. Almost reaching the end, we spawned two Hag's eye which quickly killed us all with IGMS.
We didnt want to respawn, so we called for help. Multiple lvl40 immortals came to help us, but they too died before they could do anything. Luckily Charek came as Higan, who was the only person able to survive the magical attack
Perhaps the Key could be moved to somewhere a little bit easier that even a party of lvl 40's can reach without much trouble?

Yes, I concur.
The Hags seemed to be just a slight[/b] bit overpowered. I mean, I know it should be a challenge, but when you call in 3 immortals, and you watch them all die one by one trying to save you, I think we need to draw the line somewhere!
And yes, thank god Higan and his buffness came and saved our sad butts....it would have been a 8 person trip to the Fugue!

The area's not that hard though for well-equipted people. My lvl38 wizard had no problem at all. and i was going solo too Omar, the Nomad Camp merchant, sells Juggernaut Plates for under a million. they are great becuase they block 10/- to positive, negative, and magical damage. This will make IGMS do a total of 5-15 damage to you.

That's funny. Angel and I had NO problems in there last night. Must be you. I seem to recall some grumbling about the thrall sorcs in the Hob mines as well when some n00bs got owned there.

I should get wasted by the IGM down there, I am a level 16 I think. However, Level 35+ Immortals, who come to help by rezzing us, should not get wasted by the Hags. Dunno if it was the specific characters weaknesses, or what the deal is, but 8 people ended up laying on the floor.

Btw Slayer, i went in one of those groups to the thrall sorcerers in the hobbos, and thye r rediculous for the lvl of characters that go in there! I mean, firebrands!? they pull out 45+ dmg each one, and the main sorc also has IGMS. For lvl 7-9 chars, they pose a real butt kicking, since u cant get past the half-dragons without some difficulty (and they hit hard )! for a party of six chars lvl 6-9, that area is still quite hard. And the dragon wipes the floor with most chars that lvl, as it has mestil's acid sheath on. Ask Java, he was there and he agreed it has a bit overpowered for that area. On the plus side, it was great fun! even if i did get my ass handed to me on a platter

Blood, those firebrands are EASILY escapable if you have either fire resistance, or a ring of improved evasion on. I made the same complaint to Slayer, and he told me to go back and try with protection and the ring, and I owned everything!

Improved evasion doesnt help versus firebrands. It should but a NWN glitch makes firebrands ignore reflex saves

That glith is fixed. Check again. Reflex save works GOOD for Firebrands.
Awesome.
Some difficulty? Quite hard? Welcome to PoA. Enjoy your stay. Don't forget to tip your waitress.

yeh ur probably right just that when u pretty much go through the rest of the mines with little trouble, ur not expecting to find that sort ofheat at the end.

I think the Hobgoblin area is great, Its a little tough, but that is good. Those sor are easy with fire resitance, or even without it and good teamwork, as long as you target them first and forget about the rest of the guys they go down before they can get off a firebrand. They also drop rings of greater fire resistance, so after you kill 1 its easy to kill the others. I personally like it to be hard as hell. going through and just slaughtering stuff makes me fall asleep while I play.

its fun when the enemies are quite formitable, but its not fun having an entire party massacred in couple seconds
