It is still valid - however, I've decided to limit the quest completion numbers to 3 transformations per individual. This means I'll do the transformation for you on 3 separate doppelganger characters but if you mess up, delete one and want a re-do you've already used that one up - tough luck. Currently, no one has over 2 transformed doppelganger characters.
There's a few more I can announce as having completed this quest: Oratek, Ithgar, Hellbound McFob and The Domicron.

This quest still valid?
Either way, how would you find out what models are available? Found out how to scroll through the possible appearances of creatures in the toolset that came with the game, but it doesn't list any information on them (and it seems to be missing a few).

It's best to come up with a few alternatives because some of the models will be either the wrong size (must be medium, same size as the doppelganger appearance) and normal movement speed. Funky

what I did was went into te creature creation wizard and started a new critter, then just changed its appearence. when I found one I liked I would open its invenory. I would attempt to eq a Greatsword, If I could EQ a GS, then I would attempt to EQ a dagger. Only a Med model can do both.

Is this similar to the old quest for Dopplegangers I heard about? I guess that was somehow discontinued or changed somehow because I saw a Mc Fob once that could change into a table (like the animated ones in the strange tower dungeons)...very funny to see it running around the desert...thanks for promoting/resurrecting this as any humor is always greatly appreciated (especially as serious and hardcore as some people have been of late!).

Allow me to risk your wrath by asking whether this quest is extended to Anarchs (not that I have one, sigh)? When this quest was announced BURRs weren't out yet. They don't change appearance so they aren't as ugly....

No the quest was never discontinued but ONLY applies to dopplegangers. The McFob with the table as a base form was one who had completed the quest. Anarchs don't qualify as the race doesn't change appearance and you can use character extender on them if you like to achieve some degree of customization.

i got 2 quick questions...
do druids without any shape shifter levels qualify, since they technically can shape change once they hit level 5?
is there a minimum level the character must have?

this isn't a quest for druids, its for dopplegangers, not class related, regards a specific subrace

this isn't a quest for druids, its for dopplegangers, not class related, regards a specific subrace i know that of course. the reason i ask is: The Celestial Badger holds shapechanging creatures in high esteem, and to benefit such creatures she has devised a challenge of self discovery, "shapechanging creatues". i somehow doubt that includes a doppleganger cleric.

Unless something has changed recently, the quest is for ANY doppleganger cherrys. Whether they are shifter, druid, cleric, rogue or otherwise makes no difference. I say this simply because i remember Azreal (however it's spelt ) had a falcon looking cleric that I thought was pretty darn sweet. ~grudge

Dopplegangers are by nature shapshifiting creatures who in the world of PnP NEVER assume their own ugly ass natural form.
