The staffmaster sounds really interesting but the book makes it's abilities very confusing. Maybe we could get an explanation for those of us that are dumb to the ways of DC's, Penetrations, Str instead of Int mods, and the like?

You mean this?
"The Staffmaster may select any available damage type as the type to be added by the blackstaff spell, by using his Way of the Staff item prior to casting the spell."
As for reasoning, Funky would know.

Taken from the class information book...these are the available effects you can have blackstaff apply:
Initially, the damage added is fire damage. As the character gains Weaponmaster levels, additional damage types become available: 4 WM levels: Cold 8 WM levels: Electrical 12 WM levels: Acid 16 WM levels: Sonic 20 WM levels: Magical 25 WM levels: Positive and Negative

You mean this? "The Staffmaster may select any available damage type as the type to be added by the blackstaff spell, by using his Way of the Staff item prior to casting the spell." >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>type<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< not 'types', but TYPE As in one, singular, unitary, solo, uno y no mas, type. You get to choose which it is, based on those available, which is in turn based on the number of WM levels. If you're thinking that may not sound like much of a perk, the damage scale will be redone with the rest of LL class abilities and feats to outpace both flame weapon and BG/assassin damage bonuses, though by how much I haven't decided - will depend on playtest. It'll be added using a kinda hacky method, by applying the onhitflamingweapon property to the spell and editing that spellscript. Ditto allotta the LL edits. And no one taught ME how to do it, it just took an hour or so digging around in various scripts to see that it'd work. Funky
