MUDs survived without the easy access that NWN servers have, we'd just have to get link on gaming sites, maybe start NWN list servers

This is terrible news... I hope that EA doesn't shut this down... But... They are more of a "give me the money" sort of gaming company, not so much caring for the gamers so to speak... I mean, sims? Man they can milk a lot out of that moneycow! Sure it's fun but man, it's expensive... I guess they might see some sort of oppertunity here, never know I guess... /// Luth

I'd rather set myself on fire than play any of the awful, yearly released, money laundering sports attrocities that EA produce. EA burn in Hell, Nessus to be more specific!

The only good thing here is that EA is expanding into RPG games.
Now they say thats an area they currently do not have.... but older folks like myself remember when EA was a brand new company. And back then they had a thriving RPG section. Bards tale for one I remember fondly.
But since then they have grown too big and they ruin everything they touch. For example the original Ultima series was great... until EA got their hands in the jar. The last sequals of the series sucked.
We can only hope that they are serious about developing RPG titles with quality in mind. But I think the last 20 years shows that most games do better from independant studios. With the sole exception of anything Sid Meir does... somehow even under Atari he manages to pull out wins.
In any case... continued support of the NWN series will quickly evaporate now. And sequals we'll just have to wait.... I'm guessing crap... but who knows... maybe they'll surprise us. They are capable... or rather they were 20 years ago....
