since yourve got and did a awsome redo on summon spells i think the next best step would be new comapions and famil;ars starting at level 30. several of the casters i mentioned idea too loved it. so i really do hope you consider it. the current forms really get their butts kicked cayuse they are just too weak for higher levels. but a whole new set would nicely fix that problem without heavy editing of defaults.

Or you could change the colors of the existing ones, feed them steroids, and then make them epic familiars.... or something.
But suggestions for new ones altogether could be like...... Dryads Faeries Cerebrus Satyrs Mini-Balor Minotaurs Falcon/Eagle

Dear sorc. and wiz.,
I witnessed a level 20 sorc(maybe wiz) solo SOLO Lair of Guardians. Correct me if I am wrong, are not those weapon masters lvl 30 or so. The script put in made them target his summon everytime. (Ya gotta rest after every encounter, but still...) SOLO, why even have melee characters now, if ya had a level 20 fighter with Dev Crit. down there soloing he would be slaughtered regardless. Giving sorc/wiz another means of "powerleveling" really is a bite in the ass to the people that should be guarding wiz/sorc's sweet fragile ass, the Melee character. Am I a whiny axe wielder? yes. So what I am saying is...Are wiz /sorc way to powerful now? I couldnt solo Guardians with a 30 fighter(well about 100 heal paks and me shouting for someone to come rez me, i could do it) Just another melee player bitching....

I witnessed a level 20 sorc(maybe wiz) solo SOLO Lair of Guardians. Really? Please state the spells/tactics used because I must be doing something wrong then. I have a L39 character with 34 Wiz levels and he can't even solo Guardians. I've tried with Premonition, Greater Stoneskin, and Ethereal Visage on myself and Improved Invis, GMW, and FW on both myself and my summoned Elder Vacuum Elemental (FYI, my AC is 77). The very first encounter in there blows through my summons and me in less than 2 rounds. If a L20 could solo it I'm not using the right spells, their summons wouldn't nearly be as powerful as mine. If you think you can solo guardians at L20 Wiz/Sorc, please let me know what I'm doing wrong with my spell selection please . Ralkain/Dave.

actually new summons just help slightly wizards can still seriously get their ass kicked especially if enemy wield grater dispel magic. what you saw must have been a fluke or they cheated somehow.

if i can remember the player Ill ask him/her spell selection. I remember alot of knockdown lightning/bigbys grasp on melee, seemed the archers shot at the summons only.

I guess I have to agree that the familiars and summoned creatures are very weak. I am currently running a shadow dancer assassin and the shadow that I summon is frankly pathetic. Half the time it doesn't even attack the enemies. Case in point, yesterday in the farm, I had swarms of taro and yukio and it just sat there even after a direct command to attack. Have they developed a sense of self preservation? : ) This is also the case with rangers. At higher lvls the animal companions are frankly just not worth the trouble. Just my two cents.

Were you using the custom summon? Unlikely at that level I'm guessing, but if so, its ai was broken until the update coming tommorow. You should be aware that lvl 20 is a transition point on the server, where standard class abilities just wont hack it anymore. Its a bit like starting over at first level for many classes. Your shadowdancer class has a nice custom summon once you find it, but assassins will still be hurtin for awhile unti I get around to boosting their abilities some. Anyway, familiar upgrades are planned but are a looooong ways off. And Joe, if you are a butt-hurt melee nut you will LOVE the new areas in the update. Nuff said. Funky

For this Shadowdancer custom summons, aside from being lvl 20 overall(that's what I'm assuming you meant) are there any other requirements. You mentioned finding something..and I have a good idea where, but does there need to be a prerequisite number of levels in shadowdancer before summons will work?

Well i was looking through the forum and i saw my name in this topic =P well actually you dont eaven need a summon to solo guardians with a lvl 20 mage ( i actually prefer to kill em with a sorc cause you have more spells ) . So if some one wants the tactic i use just tell me on the server ( im mostly on with Jesus or Martin Vilmar atm)
