Well seeing how this is a non PvP based realm whether or not a tank is better than a mage or vise versa is obselete. If i go in to kill a 40th lvl npc wizard ill crush it because of the heal pots. But going up against a pc mage without heal pots ill get crushed. Even if i absorb 32% of your spells and dmg reduction of about 21 to all forms of dmg i still wont live through the 50 spells you have mem'd. But all that aside i still want to dual a pure wiz. Mainly cause i have one in the works and would love to see how they handle a tank at high lvls. Ill be on all night tonight, prob a diff character so if you wanna do it for the fun of it ill be on as either "Rock", "Thorfin Skullsplitter", or "Gorbash". Look forward to see ing how many of your spells it takes to kill me! (Sarcastically speaking) "So how bout no buffs either?"

Another historic rule is no pre-combat buffs, these are just the traditional rules of duelling in Ascension. So yeah, no buffs.

Hmmm, be careful dwarf. Jadon is one to be careful of in the arena. Just about any reputable mage anyhow. Though I can see the logic...a 40th lvl NPC mage toe to toe with a crazed dwarf whom has the ability to quaff them heal pots. It swings the power curve into the realm of the dwarf for sure but in the arena the Sorc in particular will win out everytime. Especially since there are no items out there to make one immune to Necromancy or 100% immune to any kind of elemental damage. The nature of the beast I suppose. My suggestion would be to take an archer into battle against a mage...as it is said that archers can be the very bane of mages. Many would think a monk...but with every hit you land that elemental damage would rip you apart! Maybe a monk with zen archery is the answer....
Just the ramblings of a dead hafling is all...speaking from the twisted realms of Ravenloft.

Teek is starting to scare me. I can see it now. Little halfling monks with zen archery overrunning the server. oh god, the humanity.

Ritch speaking from standpoint of lvl 24 bard here. first thing get the book to spell changes and the song changes and build according to that. I weared some armour till lvl 15 or so then used my UMD to utilitize accordingly. My best advice is to play your bard during peak hours and have a large party surroundin gyoou and u can become everyones best support character. A more advanced bard could lead better insight upon the more specifics of epic advancemnet and what items to look out for.

Bards? Remember the RDD path.
But for a pure build (speaking from a whopping L29 here): * remember you can use a shield and swap it to cast spells * summons are your friends * max that bad song at all costs, even to taking skill focus perform * bard feats a must: curse, extra, lingering and then epic lasting inspiration * item feats are quite good: scrolls and wands * after you get epic Ethereal Visage (L20 or L21), drop all armour and never use a shield (see spell changes) * I think Point Blank is a must early on - you are never going to survive h2h combat
Hope this helps

here's a cool idea since i've been doing alot of reading lately, i personally think they should take out all iteams, completely empty the stores and hide evrything then it makes the game just that much more fun. i do think rez pack's are to readily available and heal pot packs. maybe take packs out and leave individual and lower total number of iteams one can hold, including stacked pots

only problem with that is with so much hidden, every time you turn a corner you'll find some "hidden" loot

there already is to much hidden loot, every corner i do round there's something. maybe refill the stores and make gp harder to come buy.
