Just an Idea....what if low lvl bosses like capped dragons...would drop items that could be upgraded when you kill some other bosses later on? Lets say you Kill XXX dragon and it drops a ring that gives +4 to X...then 10 lvls later you kill YYY dragon (insert any boss type here) and that same ring upgrades into +8 X...just an idea.. That way everybody woudl have a good reason to slay the capped dragons or any other boss. I got my first immo a few nights ago and the only thing I regret is I lvld so fast I missed much of the content in the game....and Its not that I deliverately powerlvld its just that I always followed the more experienced/vets players and well they always played in the high xp places....because every time I tried to scout around solo I ended up: 'something has looted your body' Just an Idea....

hmmm I think thats a really neat idea. It'd certainly have vets out exploring lower level areas, which in turn would bring new players out of the big four zones (beetles, tower, farm, Rhazid's) because thats where the groups would be.
New players especially must feel press to go where the groups are, since they'd have no idea what's where, whats safe, or where they can go and not instantly die - other than the super obvious places like the Desert.

I think its a great idea too. Been trying to come up with something to encourage exploring and discourage power levelling for a while. And your idea isnt crap like mine tend to be! :-)
Questions though: are u thinking of items with fillable slots aka Diablo stylee? where different "gems" will give ur item different stats? or items that themselves gain "tags" when u use them while performing some task or killing a certain enemy?

I think the best would be something along the lines of the original upgradeable items from NVN solo campaing ...so yes I think it would be something like tags...but not sure what would be easier to implement for the Dev Team.

Or an NPC could spawn upon death which would allow you to turn in the old item in return for the upgraded one.
