I got blinded by a "Priest of Bane" on my way into Zhents recently and when i entered the first map of the outpost I have to say it gave it a pretty awesome spooky feel with the torches on the wall being the only thing I could see. Not sure if you'd want to spend any time it, but my idea is to have the blindness effect applied to the party on entry to the outpost which would gradually wear off, as if your eyes were adjusting to the dark (similar to how you get cursed on entering the catacombs).

The easiest way to do that would be to just have blindness cast as a regular spell on you when you enter the area. The problem is that all you would have to do is rest and the effect would be gone. Personally I would rather not have the script in place than waste time resting just to dispell a useless effect.

I wasn't intending the effect as something that would hamper a party's progress, purely as an aesthetic addition - so it's fine if the blindness wears off quickly or is removed/dispelled by the party. I simply thought that the vibe of Zhents is that it's a dark, evil place, so I liked the idea of entering the place in pitch blackness. Also, dispelling/restoring items are readily available to players from a fairly low level, and by the time you reach the level range at which you would consider entering Zhents, I'd imagine the more sensible players would be carrying a few of each However; Funky and co have many more important and exciting things on their plate at the moment, so I'd be pleasantly suprised if they showed an interest in the idea, let alone placed it in the mod.
