Do all party members have to be on the map for their presence to count toward increased chances? Asking because I've heard of BURs dropping in the Droc Eyrie while only one person was down there.

Yes they do. What you heard was rumor. Funky

How does this rarity bonus works? Do the bonus comes from the common category or from the catogory above it? Does this means that for a 9 member party the distribution of items is like this?
Taking from the category under them. 50% common 27% uncommon 15% rare 4% ultrarare 4% BUR
All taking from the common category
38% common 31% uncommon 19% rare 8% ultrarare 4% BUR
Sorry for the bother, I'm a really curious guy.
Take care Kaezar
BTW, best PW on the net. Great job K.

Your numbers are wrong, and I've never released % data for BURs, but you can think of it as all coming out of commons. The bonus adds to a d100 roll, and helps get over the number required for hiven rarities. Example:
System rolls to check for rarity, number is a 96. That's two below the cutoff for UR, which is 98+ Because there are 5 members in the party, a bonus of two is added, making the total 98, and a UR drops instead of a rare.

Wow, thanks. I guess I just assumed (Yeah, I know what that makes me) that the base chance of BUR was 0% for a solo adventurer. Well, it's good to know.
Thanks for the attention. Kaezar

A solo adventurer can't find a BUR, but there is a threshold over which you must roll (party bonus included) to find one. Funky

Not sure how many of these can be answered - I'm probably digging for too much information here, but I have some questions about the random loot system:
1. Would it be possible to add the loot level to the pc scry as well as the rarity for common, uncommon, and rare loot? The level requirement on the item does not always match the loot level range (e.g. the 25% exotic / +12 stat rings such as Varamir's Vengeance require level 23 to use, but are level 35-40 random loot).
2. How fine-grained is loot rarity? I'm pretty sure there's not an even chance for any given rare of a given level range to drop, but is it broken down by type, or by individual item? I'd say I see at least 5-10 sets of mageblight armor for every rare immunity ring I see, and just going by the numbers there are only 10 kinds or so of mageblight and over 25 rare immunity rings. I don't think my sample size for the rare immunity rings is large enough to say whether certain rings are more common than others, although I will note that I've found about twice as many Howlfire's Horns as any other ring - but given the nature of random numbers, that's not unusual.
3. Do individual bosses have skewed or customized random loot tables? For example, Dachy appears to drop two random rares, but there seems to be a very, very high chance of them being the Tempus' Left shield, and he also appears to drop rare elemental immunity rings more often than would otherwise be expected.
One of the things which precipitated these questions was Cath's earlier post about Preservation. Going by the level requirement to use the shield, it wouldn't be level 35-40 random loot, and I was actually starting to believe it wasn't, but I finally saw one drop on an illithid run recently, so now I'm pretty sure it is.
Thanks, Acaos

1) No 2) Even distribution, absent wierdness from the somewhat notorious bioware random number generation system 3) No, though many boss chests used to be restricted to the older URs, and non-LL areas still are. Funky

Does class or race of looter impact what drops in any way?

Nope. Only time character attributes affect drops is in the 1-5 level areas, with containers that will drop the weapon type you have a focus in. Thats an old bioware script though, and nothing to do with our random loot system.

Well Funky i have a question about the 1-5 level areas does that apply with monks because i was runnina round my my monk and in 1 area i found 2 rare scythes which had nothing to do with my monkness ( i was solo )

Does what apply? With the exception of a few very low level drops, the random loot is just that, random. Maybe like 5 or 10 bags in lowbie areas will drop weapons based on your focuses, but they aren't a part of our random loot system. Funky

I know it's been mentioned in other posts that your % of a bur dropping is greater in deeper hells than the lower hells.
1. Is this true? 2. How significant of a % is it? 3. Are you going to release % information on this?

All I've said is you're more likely to score burs on the way to Asmo than Tiamat, and that's probably all I'm going to say. ^^ Funky

When does the word "probably" actually work out in my favor? In my experiences, I've always been a bit disappointed when I've heard that word. Thank you Funky for your prompt answer.
