Radial menu? This thread is for the voice commands etc for SIMTools, which currently isn't running on HG due to a bug in the 3rd party app it relies on, per the 'Why isn't SIMTools Running on HG?' thread. Funky

My only suggestion so far for this nifty change is to get rid of the command that lets other players get your IP address. Really not keen on that...you know...with all the whackos out there now a days. Peace, Phantanya

I agree with that, the reason why I no longer host the pdf is that I have noticed a big increase in hack attempts on my server.

You could replace profanity like what was done with lol changing to *Laughing out loud*

The ip addy is removed already in the next update. As for a profanity filter, if you have a good set of search stings let me know. I have access to the Gamespy onesand they are a joke, not worth putting in. Funky

Well I do have one suggestion on this - presuming it's still getting implemented. I don't know if this would take a ton of work but, could we change the special character for emotes from star * to pound #? Or some other less commonly used character like that?
It's common chat convention to put a star in front of a misspelled word on the next line after your first garbled attempt. Of course with the chat system installed anything with a star in front comes up as invalid emote. It's also commonly used for other chat purposes, causing it to be called at other inappropriate times - maybe even causing some of the issues with it. Nobody uses the pound key for anything that I know of - it might make the chat command less easy to trigger by accident.

The # key is used for entering commands using the chat interface rather than using the console. It's useful for binding commands to your quickbar (more useful for DMs than anyone else). The ^ key would be the likely replacement.

We'll be implementing it if the linux version of the nwnx plugin it uses is ever fixed, so it doesn't cause crashes every hour or less. Even if we don't though, it's been released on the Vault for Windows servers to make use of, so suggestions are still welcome. As for the emote command, the laterst version already made that configurable by the installer to be any key, so we could easily switch to using another another key, once the system is put back to use *crosses fingers*. A good command feature to set up for chat-based commands is the skill rolls, perhaps !skill lore, with a !local feature. This would be a good replacement for the Emote wands currently in use by the players.

This would be a good replacement for the Emote wands currently in use by the players. The problem I saw with that is that skill rolls must be AGAINST something - why not just roll a d20? 26 skills would make for a lot of clutter. Funky

Skill roll = d20 + desired skill value...it's more of a RP function than anything else.

Yes, the Skill rolls include the following factors not in a straight "D20" roll:
1. Ability modifier. 2. Skill ranks. 3. Modifiers to skill from item (though I believe that can be called from skill ranks in NWN). 4. Feats (such as Keen Senses, again I think this is handled in Ranks in NWN).
Being able to (as a DM) say "Roll spot check, DC 20" and have the players' modified rolls appear visible is invaluable in keeping things running smoothly.

I suppose something like [!roll skillname dc] (minus the brackets) wouldnt clutter too much...are you suggesting it be a dm command targetable at the player, or a player command? The latter seems more PnP and player-participation-oriented, while the former would help avoid metagame chatter. Funky
