Had a look through the builds and almost every build that had monk as its control class took Self Conceal V.
Before I start to build my monk, I was wondering is Empty Body THAT useless? As I see it (if I understand correctly):
Self Conceal V Pros: 50% concealment permanently Cons: Dex 30, Hide 30, Tumble 30, 21st level, Improved evasion needed to qualify, + the 5 SC feats
Empty Body Pros: 50% concealment, FREE @ lvl 18, 70% @ lvl60 Cons: can only be used twice a day, lasting up to 60 rounds
I am tempted to dump SC, as 2x 40-60 rounds (post-immo), with higher concealment, seems more than enough, and frees up a lot of feats + some skill points. But, I do not have actual experience with it, so I am looking for some insight.

My guess would be that it's dispellable maybe? Others can probably confirm or deny that, but that would be my guess. Shadowdancer doesn't worry about disspells, because they get unlimited castings of their "conceal". But at just 2x a day, that could be a problem.

Empty body is not dispellable, not even by the beholder anti-magic cones. The main reason most people get SCV is because 4-5 minutes (a 20-30 monk build at level 60), is not nearly long enough for a lot of no-rest areas if you have to rest every 2 uses.

Pure monk can actually get up to 80% conceal. +1% every 2 LL's. So 40th pure monk has 70% at 40th and up to 80% at 60th. Aye duration is not that long. . . with my most recent monk build I decided to dump SC V. So far going with just Empty Body has not been that much of a problem. However, resting is a way of life for the Empty Body dependant Monkey.
