The Whistling Pixie 32 Bard/1 Monk/ 7 WM

Posting this in response to a request. Only putting up a basic framework now, more to follow.

Take all 7 WM by 20. I generally can only squeeze 8 out of 10 Greater Dex feats. Kama is your weapon of choice. Make sure you get blind fight, lasting inspiration, and all the ab boosting feats. You wind up with a nasty, highly mobile tank/jukebox. Pretty hard to get killed, with 124 ac dualing (or more) and 70%(iirc) conceal, and provides a nice boost to the entire party. Fully buffed dualing ab is 68 iirc. Will post screens soon. Ask away if you have questions.

I have been considering what to do with my Pixie subrace, and I havent made a bard yet. Sounds like a great idea! Looking forward to more info. A pixie can only carry one kama right? Is that better than unarmed for that build?

Similar to my planned pixie, only I go for Either 1 Paladin or 4 BG levels (both pre epic) over 7 WM levels. Also not sure whetehr to dual or use a bard oartifact in my off hand.

No, pixies can dual kamas. I alternate between dualing and using the artifact depending where I am.

according to my tables, this would lower your saves.
bard has primary saves will and reflex, WM has reflex.

so 13bard 7 WM pre-epic has base saves of

fort 6
reflex 13
will 10

while 14 bard 6 WM has base saves of

fort 6

only one point, but hey, some ppl take feats to get that ^^

Monk pre or post epic. Pre save you having to get exotic wpn feat, but reduces your ab (tho increasing your saves). Im assuming pre due to this build feat shortage, but could be wrong.

ah no, of course.

taking 12 bard, 7 wm, 1 monk doesn't decrease AB at all (in comparision to any progression with 7 WM pre-epic). so definetely take the monk lvl pre-epic.

Yup. Take it at first level, you need the ability to use kamas to WM them in time. You could put it off a bit, taking the other WM feats, but there's little reason to. I really need to post the build details, will soon.

Are saves a problem with this build Funky? The others on here generally take either Paladin or BG, to improve saves since your charisma is fairly high anyway. Just wondering if you find yourself face-down in the sands a lot, or wishing for higher will or fort saves in other areas.

Nope, not really. The pyramid beetles are a pain, but that's pretty much it. Ignore the post advocating a wm level past 20 for saves, it'd hose your ab by one, a far more important consideration:

I would recommned taking the monk at level 2... start with bard and you get 2 free levels instead on 1. Hey a new char needs all the help she can get! Been wanting to make a bard, and love my pixies so I see this is a viable toon for me in the very near future. Looking forward to seeing the fleshing of this build.

Would this build work with rakshasa so to get your ab up alil more mabe or is pixi still best?

I must be missing something on this build (with Pixie). To get the 6 weapon master feats before level 13, seems that one would have to take Dodge and Mobility at char creation (loosing the free Pixie Dodge feat) or waste some ability points by pushing Intelligence up to 13 (pre pixie, so 15 after pixie) and then take expertise and something else at char creation. In both cases can't get Weap Finesse until lev 15 (requires bab 1). Is there a better way?
