;DHey all,
I decided to post this since I've been getting a lot of requests and compliments on the build in game. This is a very fun/easy to use Strength (yes, STR) build that can TANK. I've corrected here some of the problems/mistakes I made with Jenna the Defender (mainly low saves - hence the save feats ==originally had power attack, cleave, (useless), and Imp. Expertise (never use)==)
My original post was under a different name and had more mistakes so I deleted it to make a new improved version under my character's name
Purpose of Build: Make a viable Strength based tank, focusing on lots of Damage Reduction to make up for low AC.
Subrace: Derrzagon (+2 Dex, +2 Int, -2 Wis, -2 Cha) SR 18, Free feats: Blind Fighting, Keen Sense. <<If you have UR Battlerager, use it other wise, derrzagon works very well>>
Starting Stats:
Str: 16 (16)
Dex: 14 (16) yes this could be 11 if you prefer (add 1pt str) however, it will lower your reflex save
Con: 18 (18)
Int: 12 (14) also could be 11, but might as well get 1 more skill
Wis: 8 (6)
Cha: 6 (4)
Level Advancement:
Fighter: 1-6, WM, 7-13, 14-40 Dwarven Defender
Feats:
1) WP: Exotic, WF: Dwarven Waraxe, ((Keen sense, Blind fight))
2) Dodge
3) Mobility
4) Spring Attack
6) Expertise, Whirlwind attack <<ADD 4 Points to INTIMIDATE!>>
9) Improved Critical: Dwarven Waraxe
12) Toughness (needed for DD)
15) Iron Will
18) Lightning Reflexes
21) Epic Weapon Focus
24) Epic Prowess
27) Epic Will, *Armor Skin
30) Great Strength I
31) Epic Damage Reduction I
33) Great Strength II
35) *Epic Damage Reduction II
36) Great Strength III
39) Epic Reflexes, *Epic Damage Reduction III
Ability Points: you need to add 4 points to your Constitution before level 31 in order to get Epic Damage Reduction. I suggest doing this at level 4, 8, 12, 16 to get it out of the way. After that, put everything into Strength.
Skills: 4 Intimidate, Max Discipline, Max Concentration, 20 Tumble, 17 Pick Pocket(if you want).
At level 40 naked:
Str: 25
Con: 22
Hit Points: 734
AC: 19
Fort: 28
Reflex: 28
Will: 23
My current AC with gear at level 51 is only 102 and I can sit in the middle of the desert and pretty much not have to worry about being hit on by 20-30 guys
Legendary Levels: add all points into Strength, feats will be Great Strength IV-X.
At level 60: Strength = 42naked(+16)/54buffed (+22)
Since DD immunity to phys bonus is capped at +20 from strenght, this works. Yes, 54 strength is low, however, it's only 4-5AB points but since you take all Full AB classes, it's not sooo bad. Just make sure you get GMW from a friend and get your hands on Singe (dwarven waraxe - drops in desert) ASAP.
Gear: As much resists and damage immunity as you can lay your little dwarven hands on. Immo has some great damage immunity/damage reduction gear. Use this till you find better and you will be doing well. A good immo level shield is Demondim. Find a Ring of the Ready +10 and use it. Anything that has % immunity STACKS! Currently I have somewhere in the range of 60-70% physical damage immunity to slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning plus usually a 20/- damage reduction from gear, plus the DD damage reduction of 18/- (from being at least level 26 DD), plus Epic Damage Reduction of 9/- from feats and it all STACKS!!! meaning a DR of 47/-!!! So even if that nasty dragon hits you for 200 physical damage you'll end up with 60 after the immunity, minus the 47, leaving you only taking 13 damage out of that 200!!!
Sorry to go on, but it's a cool build ;D Exotic damage reduction is also your friend. Currently (with basic immo gear), Guardians in the maze only do 10 damage per hit on me. Activate your Defensive Weave, remove your shield to lower your AC (yes, lower your ac so the can Hit you more), and let your Def. Weave help you destroy those guardians!
ok, enough from me. Go out, have some fun, and drink lots (I mean lots!) of ale because with a 22 constitution (+12 from items), it is VERY HARD to get drunk
==hey funky, can we get some harder stuff in Rips? I just can't seem to get drunk enough these days and who has ever heard of a dwarf that doesn't get drunk?!== THANKS!
