What is HGEPIC?
Its function is similar to the Bioware Epic builds section, made for higher ground/hg2.
What is a Higher Ground epic build?
A higher ground epic build foremost is a popular build. A popular build is a good indicator that the build is successful and fun to play.
What is the goal of HGEPIC?
To serve as a resource to the players of Higher Ground as an easy to read, well structured layout of popular, successful builds used on the player world.
How does my build become a higher ground epic build?
Requirements:
1. You need to have personally built a character that follows your build to level 60. Small variations (like skills, weapon choice) is OK, level structure is not.
2. You should have the majority of character tags on higher ground for this build, and you should have appropriate gear for a level 60 char.
3. The more references you have for the build, the better. These are people who use/plan to use your build. The more people who actually are playing your build and the higher level these characters are the better.
4. You need to have posted the build in the character builds section on the forums.
5. You should be willing to divulge any/all information regarding the build and overall build experience. This includes - disadvantages/advantages of the build, LL gear/resist gear, play tips, spell selection, etc.
6. Need to provide requested screen shots- character sheet, spell page, shots of the character in action, close ups of the character, etc. Higher res the better. Also need to include an avatar/some info about yourself.
7. Need to answer questions about the build, and address issues that come up with your build (i.e. be willing to test chamber the build if there is a conflict or issue).
8. Should have 1 version of your build that can be done with a general race/subrace. All hg epic builds should be available to any player, regardless of tokens, and still be effective. (i.e. If your build can only use wraith, and is not a viable build without the wraith subrace, it will not work for HGEPIC)
How is it determined who receives credit for a build?
For builds with multiple authors, it comes down to who can fulfill the requirements. If you added valuable information to the build in some way (meets step 4 above) and meet the other requirements, credit for the build will be given to you. No multiple authors. Playtime with the build is a deciding factor. Feedback in the thread is a deciding factor. Who posted it first is not a deciding factor. As an author of the build you should feel obligated to help others who are planning to do the build, answer questions, etc., which is a deciding factor.
I can/will meet the requirements, how do I nominate my build to become an epic build?
Post in this thread, or PM/email me with ?'s first.
What about the story and other cool stuff on there?
If you have a good story, I use that. Otherwise I will send you drafts of stories I wrote for you to review/approve (see Halfling Death). All the graphics, editing, fonts, layout, etc I do. You get final approval of your epic build page.
How long does it take to get a build up on the site?
Once approved, takes 1-2 weeks based on how busy I am.
How do best take advantage of the site?
Read the build(s) on HGEPIC, find one you like, and use the printer friendly option
to print out an easy to follow checklist for starting roll, levels, gear, and/or spells.
I found a problem on the site
