Hi Everyone,
I'm not sure if this post belongs on this thread or the general building one, but I'm sure it will be moved if it's wrong.
I'd like some advice on combate medic role.
I was following the combat medic build posted in the Bioware Epic Builds but realized, first, that there were errors in it (eg. taking War and Travel domains do not give you Chain Lightning) and second that perhaps Higher Ground's customizations would render some of the choices there unwise. So I'll describe what I've got so far and then the three paths I'm considering.
ST 8
DX 10
CN 10
IN 14
WIS 18
CHA 12
Every improvement point went into WIS, so I now have 24 WIS.
Domains: Travel, War
Feats: Combat Casting; Empower Spell; Epic Spell Penetration; Expertise; Extend Spell; Greater Spell Focus (Evocation); Greater Spell Penetration; Improved Combat Casting;
Skills: I focused on Concentration; Heal; Spellcraft; Tumble: UMD; and (in the last two levels) Performance.
I took one bard level at about level 15 to start getting some UMD and Tumble, then two more Bard levels at the end.
I hope that gives you a clear enough picture of where I'm at. So I now have a choice:
1) Follow the Bioware build which switches to Pale Master to get the natural AC and crit immunity, but basically wastes the bard levels (included primarily to achieve the three arcane caster levels) because I'll be wearing plate mail and don't have a very high INT;
2) Stick with Cleric to get a higher casterlevel, especially with HG's modifications to the cleric spells so that my buffs and Implosions are more effective (but losing that natural AC, and more levels of Cleric give no more spell slots);
3) Take some more bard levels and some monk levels so that I can use bard spells and ditch the plate mail (my strength is only 8 after all), relying on my Wisdom for AC (but without DX, will I survive?)
Generally my intent is to create a character who prepares her party with buffs and regeneration spells, then - depending on the danger level - either hides behind improved invis (from items) or greater sanc while healing and rezzing, or uses her decent AC to provide another target for the monsters and be close enough to dish out heals or implosions.
Given that I've never had a character over level 29, I'm not sure which would be best. And the reason I haven't simply started over is because I already ditched a 29th-level character and don't want to have wasted these 23 levels as well. So I'd really appreciate your help in either 'salvaging' the character or telling me whether there even is a role for such a character in a HG party.
Thanks very much in advance!
