You'll also want to make the Listen skill a priority now that you're playing with a deep hells worthy race. That probably means dropping animal empathy for you. You may also want to pick up LSF Listen if you're expecting to be strapped for listen gear. This will greatly increase your damage output in the harder areas of the mod. Nobarian has a -2 intelligence bonus, so you're either going to do 16 start intelligence or cut back on other skills (craft armor and weapon). It is a great choice, since there are a lot of nice medium weapons to choose that you can finesse as a large race. Warhammers could be fun . Tyranlthixis

I've just started playing again after a year's absence. I found I had a 34 lvl Thri-kreen that is following this build. I started playing again and I had forgotten how *awesome* he is. Thanks for such a great build! Now all I need is some decent kukris and I'll be set

As a medium ranger, you might want to consider Katanas. You'll lose a little AB from dualing pens but your overall damage will be higher....like rapiers katanas are one of the few finessable medium weapons for medium sized characters.

Tyranlthixis Funny that you mentioned Katanas. I've also got a Thri-Kreen that uses this build and dual-wields katanas. I usually have a blast playing him. This has definitely been an awesome build! He's at 55 or 56 right now. I'm currently working on a One-Eyed with this build. He's under 20, but so far has been just as much fun as the Thri-Kreen. Plus with the Ranger spells, I won't need the landwalk (forgot the proper name) ability of Thri-Kreen for desert, etc. Higher Con is always a bonus too.

Considering the nature of desert, I don't consider using polymorph: pixie to cover the strider ability (levitation) as a good option, as you tend to die a lot and this spell needs to be recast on rez... desert is notorious for lots of unexpected deaths, and you'd still have to swap in a levitation ring to rest.

Good point there...since my toon was Thri-Kreen, I didn't really need to worry about desert. I've got the lev amulet, so it wouldn't be as bad. Still, recasting buffs mid-battle is never fun.

So I'm lvl 20 on this build now and I'm a new player... question: how come you went with kurkies and not daggers? That would free up one feat, unless daggers are not slashing? Or there aren't any good daggers later on?

Daggers do piercing damage so Blade Thirst won't work without GSF: Trans. All other slashing weapons other than kukri are small sized or bigger (not tiny like daggers/kukri) which would result in another -2 penalty on all your attacks since your character is small (therefor gains -4 dualing small sized weapons).

Gotcha... what kind of gear should I be aiming at? Like.. at 35, where can I find good gear? I can't find any decent kurkies except the store bought Storms....

Gotcha... what kind of gear should I be aiming at? Like.. at 35, where can I find good gear? I can't find any decent kurkies except the store bought Storms.... There are rar level 35 random weapons. The kukri version is named "Karanis". From time to time people sell them in the market. To find a specific random item ingame is hard, cause there are ...random. There are various areas where level 35 weapons drop, due to the "no ingame secrets in the forums"-policy it is best to ask the people ingame i. e. with the !newbie command.

Alright, sounds good. But I was also wondering towards what kind of gear should I be aiming? For example: what kind of immunities, resistances, dexterity, strength and so on? What should I be looking in weapons? General stat guide type of thing.
Also, does anyone have any tips on how to play this build effectively?

Immunities and resistances depend a lot on which areas you are adventuring in. I'll let you learn in game which are where (as I'm still learning. ) Some important ones are: Knockdown, Mind Affecting Spells, Entangle, Paralysis and Fear. (I feel like I've left some out.) You should be hasted already and be looking for True Seeing also. I would prioritize ability scores as: Dexterity (AB), Strength (carrying capacity), Constitution (HP, fort save), Wisdom (will save, spell power) followed by either Charisma or Intelligence depending on which will give a needed bonus to your skills. Any ability points over 12 from gear and spells/potions won't help. Be a bit flexible on the order; going from +10 to +12 strength won't help as much as keeping the +10 strength and adding +4 (or more) constitution. You will have a hard time finding weapons higher than +7 pre-legendary. So you want to party with someone that can give you a better GMW. And then to play it effectively, you probably want to keep the mobs off the casters so they can take out the mobs. But if you can called shot the mobs, maybe you want to let a tank protect the casters and you concentrate on the mobs you can insta-kill with called shot. I'm not sure the "Tanking for Dummies" ("Tanking for Characters with Low Int scores"?) post quite applies to this build.

bkboggy, you are forgetting your haste attack. You should have 4 prim, 1 prim bonus (from haste) and 2 off. Depending on weapon size your regular attacks are either -2 or -4, so the haste attack would be your true AB at either 61 or 59.
Primary - bonus - off = 7 attacks 57/52/47/42 - 61 - /57/52
