Welcome to the open subrace build forum. We encourage veteran players to post open subrace versions of tried and tested builds here. Do not post experimental and first time builds here. That is what the other build forums are for. These builds serve as a valuable resource for new players. So, please participate.
Builds posted here should......
1.) Be made with OPEN subraces exclusively
2.) Have additional information on feats and skills not normally included with builds. Remember these builds are targeted at brand new players who need to learn about building as much as they need a decent character to play with.
3.) Be capable of surviving and thriving in Legendary Level areas (not necessarily the deep hells or other more advanced areas). Melee builds should have decent saves, hit points, AC potential, AB, and sound feat choices etc. Spell casters should have class appropriate focuses, D/Cs on important spells, and spell penetration etc.
4.) Be maintained by the player that posted them as new changes arise.
Builds that fail to do these things will be moved to regular build forums until such time as the above is met.

I think this is a fantastic idea - when trying to get people to check out the forum builds (my sister especially) most good builds were disregarded because 'they're not free subbies'. People often don't check the forum, and if they do disregard some fantastic builds.
Would it be possible to give a number of options? For example, Flurry of Arrows, Flurry of Arrows (b) and (c)? This example because I recall there were options of (for example) iron will vs weapon finesse. A small intro into what these options do for you, and give them the choice?

Nothing to say those will not be posted. But, for the sanity of the person who ends up scripting it one option is plenty for now.

what about builds that are ideally done with an open sub, but are posted in the normal section? repost here?
and yes, i too think this is a great idea.

Yes but make an effort to add some additional information to them to make them more informative and easy to follow.....and include the open subrace version only.

Reading the Shifter post, you explain even what the feats do. I assume the player already knows normal NWN and explain only HG changes. What amount of detail is wanted? Obviously, the more the better, but at the same time that clutters up the build and makes it hard to read.

Not everybody understands basic NWN building. There are a ton of people who open the box, install the game, and come straight to HG. The builds I posted are part build part tutorial for that reason. Yomi and Sabre are also going to post a couple at some point and they'll have different styles from me. So, I don't expect players to follow what I did exactly either, but its my job to set the bar high and hope that players fill out their builds a with little extra information. Tyran

Be aware we will be actively policing this forum and moving builds that don't meet the criteria to the main forum. We may even lock the forum to all but staff. Funky

Would be cool to have UR and BUR seperated too; though that may be more cumbersome. That way, if I know I don't have any BUR races, I don't bother to check out those builds. Likewise, I have a few UR races (or can afford to trade for one), it's worth checking the UR races Err... or something

Just a note. Some builds that will eventually make an appearance on these boards include.
Control Class Arcane Archer (Flurry of Arrows variant) Dex Bard Tin Can Variant Green Dragon Disciple (CC RDD) with PT - Earth Genasi
The board could really use...not to limit the posting but maybe give people some ideas
A non RDD, DD variant (something similar to Zerragon's Hellsmasher maybe) Control Class Weapon Master Pure Rogue Caster Cleric Blood Fire Mage A build with Harper Scout in it A couple of different solid monk builds (dex and strength maybe)
