happy to present: Bo Tynehammer, the dire mace swinging pink/blue dwarf with the sexy robes (and beard)
(edit) this build is now a warchanter, 15bard/18dwd/7wm and has serious drawbacks, cf
note: this quasiclass is on the beta list, and can change alot.
as an incentive to discussion and hopefully some improvements, i would like to propose this rough build progression. the warchanter is a tough companion in warfare, and likely to mprove morale with his chants. fun to play and moderately dangerous, if not quite easy to equip. i would not recommend to use if you don't have your equipment to boost armour and
elemental resistance. the most important feature would be the concealment (75% at lvl 60), making him an ideal user of double
weaponry. many of the feats are wasted for the requirements of the prestige and quasiclass. definetely not a caster, although the spell "warcry" is used a lot, and a book that lets him cast "power word: stun" among other very useful items specifically for bards, scroll usage, etc.
15bard/18dd/7wm Aleithian dwarf
quasiclass: Dwarven Warchanter
gender: male
alignment:nn
base stats(after racial modifications):
str 16
dex 15
con 14
wis 8
int 13
cha 18
equipment:
robes. double scimitar, no shield. balancing it so you get >=40% phys. immunity, and best possible allround elemental immunity.
should get more than 110 ac !
feat and stat gains:
blooded
weapon focus: mace
weapon focus: club
toughness
<alignment change at 10>
mobility
expertise
improved critical: club
skill focus: intimidate
spring attack
two-weapon fighting*
<warchanter status at 26>
<alignment change at 26>
weapon proficiency: exotic
whirlwind
<alignment change at 30>
weapon of choice: club*
great strength or ambidexterity
epic weapon focus
great strength or improved two-weapon fighting
epic prowess*
<alignment change at 39>
<acquired: chant of battle>
<acquired: chant of countering>
legendary levels: useful feats would be lsf tumble, ambidexterity and improved two-weapon fighting, epic reflexes, fortitude, will, and legendary weapon focus
can benefit from illusion or transmutation epic spell focus.
keep in mind at lvl 40 you need to max tumble , discipline, (concentration and listen), so saving points for later use. putting a few points on umd helps to use all kinds of scrolls.
strength needs to be at 28 by level 40 to gain maximum benefit from the dd control class, so all extra feats must be taken in legendary levels.
wishlist:
check out the caster levels for all epic spells, if are not cast at bard level instead of quasi level
make the ac gain for dwarven defenders stack
let him use clubs
let him find some secret item with another epic spell: warding, or some other spell like preemoption or maybe stoneskin
(edit) modified this to include weaponmaster levels. as it becomes necessary to ignore bard song completely, we are only losing 2-4 points of strength as compared to the earlier version. with the new bard spells, he should get well over 70 attack buffed and better tumble in ll, as well as decent saves at 60.
with etherial visage, we are now down to 70% concealment due to a lower caster level, and i'm probably going to use a shield with it.
