Nice work Yomi! One thing.. for the non-UTC among us.. could you put "current time UTC" for when the page was rendered, as well as when it was last updated?

Right now it's a static HTML page. I'm looking into options for dynamic pages, which would include a translator to your preferred time zone (which may be as simple as just giving it an offset from UTC). I'd also thought of giving it terms to highlight, but it sounds like Syn has a neat client side solution for that.

Can you not make an xml version of the player list? That way it can be easily read by any RSS reader.

For your beta viewing pleasure: --> HG Market List <---with all Priced and Auction items listed. You can sort on any column (the sort is stable so you can get sorting on multiple keys). It updates every 5 minutes. Each item is a link to the Wiki, though this has issues. On the todo list for this include a rarity column, smarter wiki links, and remembering your sort order. Next on my list is a web table showing quest statuses on all servers.

This is terrible. Now I'm checking for runs on my blackberry. If you start letting us email !tell, then I can get people to save my slots for those deep hell runs.

I, too, would like to have all of this (and not just runs) available in XML - It would make it much easier for folks (possibly including myself) to make HG-Specific programs to keep track of run announcements, find players for a group, and find deals in the market. The web version is nice, but a real program could to tons of stuff that a simple web version can't.
If you're worried about server load, remember: you only have to generate one version - the XML one, and you don't have to update the market (or quest statuses) as often as you do the playerlist and run announcements (10-15 minutes should be ok for quest status, and hourly is probably plenty for market/auction status).

I'm working on a program that does just that. Check out the link below. It's still in an early beta, but I'm updating it several times a week at the moment(at leas the .net version) highergroundpoa.proboards3.com/index.cgi?board=Tavern&action=display&thread=9908

I've been working on this for the last week rather than playing. Everything will be available in XML, as well as an update indication in XML that will be much lighter weight in work and bandwidth, enabling faster refreshing (and only refreshing the sections that are needed). I will likely make an example Perl/TK app at the same time similar to helbrax's. There are a lot of things that will be much easier in a local app than via web pages. Of course the simple HTML and RSS pages will still be available, and the development version has some new features.

Thank you for that, Yomi. @hellbrax, I'm aware of HGClient, but right now I like the individual webpages better for the player/market lists, and a dedicated RSS reader for the Run listing. I'll put up some suggestions for potential improvements to the .NET version of your app in your thread momentarily. Also, nothing wrong with a bit of competition, is there? --Arek

I've replied to your suggestions. Many of them are already planned and most of the others are good ideas that I hope to working. Nothing wrong with competition. Much easier to steal your ideas than come up with them myself.
