rename your nwn.ini file and run nwn through the nwmain.exe (not nwloader.exe). if that doesnt help, try reinstalling your drivers

What do you mean when you say rename the nwn file? And what drivers would be nessesary? I am on a MacBook pro but I am dual booting windows as it's own operating system so it should make no difference right?

Under your Neverwinter Nights folder there's a file called nwn.ini. Rename it to something else, to reset all your settings to default.
The drivers chirikov refers to are your video drivers. They would probably be on your Boot Camp CD.

Okay so i reinstalled all my drivers and had nwn create a new nwn.ini file and now it works. when i compared the old nwn to the new, there was a lot of random crap in it talking about local host and w.e that made no sense to me at all. so once again, Thanks a Lot!

so it has been fine..... Until Now
i have renamed the nwn.ini file and booted from the nwmain.exe as i was told to. It always happens on the docks and no where else. When i reboot windows it does a disk check and there is always some symantic file ending in .tmp that the check has a problem with. i have no idea what this is but since i onlt use windows to play games on i am getting rid of symantic in hopes that it is that file that is causing my issue. any insight into this would be very helpful.

Symantic is the maker of Norton Antivirus, so probably best to uninstall and then reinstall Norton, unless you don't use a web browser or email (my wife dual-boots ubuntu 8.04 for these) or switch to a different antivirus solution. I personally use Avast, because it is free and I've had problems with Norton and AVG in the past.
