I haven't seen any portals between the different deep planes... Not the end of the world, but it would be nice, rather than having to run through the middle layer killing enemies that don't drop loot because of the level 59 loot cap (not that any of the loot i've picked up in the deep layers has been better than mass seller fodder so far).
Cheers Acaos.

Cheers Acaos. I think you might be right having portals to the other elemental planes on the shallow and deep layer or just the deep makes sense though you could easily skip the middle layer for it.

After several hours in deeper air / water / fire all i got was 1 rare helm, 2 uncommon and 5 common items. Will have to keep at it and see what else turns up. Water is my favourite of all the planes by far. Fire and Earth are harder for my COT because of taking up a ring slot (can use thids Amulet of Adaption for Water and Air which is much better). Nice work guys, thanks a lot!

We'll probably be adding some portals between the Middle or Deep planes in the future (and we've also left our way open to expand into the Paraelemental and Quasielemental planes).
Also, I'm about to drop a hotpatch which will adjust loot chances more in the Elemental Planes as well as more than doubling the chance to receive a +16 gem in the Deep planes.
We've also worked out a way for players who are being blinded in Air to cut down on the glare somewhat, so you can look forward to future work on that front (it's not in the current hotpatch).
Thanks, Acaos

My new machine being on the way, I have to ask.. how are magic users treated in the Planes? What I mean is, do you need to be the usual 7+ levels above the entry point (like the desert) in order to score hits, or has some concessions been made for this?
It'd make a great place for casters to learn in both party setups and solo if SR is set low enough to engage DC checks consistently.

My 54 PM didn't have problems beating enemy SR even in the Deep Planes, finding the spells that can kill the mobs more of a problem. In the Deep Planes, I found, that some of the mobs are mostly immune to everything, even to Greater Ruin, which is a bit problematic. There were also Swarm like mobs that I couldn't even target because there was nothing to target the spell at. The respawn rate does seem to be a bit slow though, I could wander the whole Shallow, Middle and Deep layers in one go, even after rests and fights.

I have a level 49 Wizard so only been in shallow layer with it, however, it does seem to do fine there, had no problems killing anything once I figured out the right spells. Cata

My cleric did pretty fine there as well.. lv 50, soloing shallow, if I couldnt implode something, I could rebuke, heartbane, or destruction it to death. The only problem I found was my gate going off pretty fast with my 110ish ac, but nothing that memorizing 4 (in about 20 lv 9 slots) of them wouldnt solve. Jonuhey

Cata I have no problem whatsoever spending time figuring the right spells. Hi saves? No problem. Immune to certain spells? Cool. Immune to some effects, or healing from certain spells? No worries. On a caster, I can work around these, or learn my way. Heck, I can learn to cope with heavy hitters, heavy kb, amni effects (for party area's naturally). SR is the one you can't really work with; and demands a party in most cases for an arcane caster. Looking forward now to getting my PC.

Today, Funklin and I, playing lvl 60s (RDD and AA) between 11:15 UTC and 12:15 UTC on Server 214 in Deep Water and Deep Fire got 3 pieces of loot (2 uncommon, 1 rare). Respawns were too slow for us (we did a lap, fought mobs, did an empty lap, the got about a half lap worth of mobs each subsequent lap).
Zero gems of any rarity, nice variety of mobs, not much reward for the effort.

Thanks for the update - do you perchance have a run log of any type?
Thanks, Acaos

Has anyone popped a 16 gem soloing the planes yet? Or is there a minimum party size for those to drop?
The best i've picked up soloing the deep plane of water so far is 2x 2d12 gems(divine+neg), 1x 2d10 gem(divine) and a page and a bit of mass seller fodder (rares, uncommons and commons).
Love the map, but the respawn time is still slow, so i've resorted to clearing the deep water plane on two to three servers to allow time for respawn. Would be much appreciated if this could be tweaked to be faster.
Cheers -Bort

There's no minimum party size for +16 gems to drop. Looks like about 3 +16 gems (out of 25 total gems) have dropped so far in the elemental planes in the last week or so. Thanks, Acaos
