my first time ever making a shifter and I decide to go by this I am level 2 and having a hard time carrying my own ass around lol. with just regularly equipped and no additional items in my inventory I am at 68 out of 73 pounds using a chain mail cause a full plate was too heavy.

I'd look at the big picture, how long are you going to be at level 2? Live with some less bulky equipment for a few levels then upgrade to heavier stuff when you can equip some Str increasing items to cope with the increased weight. Bags of holding are your friends at lower levels.

...as are bull's strength pots, or friendly casters with the spell. Most of my new toons all go and buy some speed pots and bull's strength pots, in addition to the "normal" things (2nd chancers, raise dead's, rez's, etc). Those two can really help, especially if you're in melee at all.

This is a problem I faced with my shifter as well as a number of other classes that use full plate but don't put points into str. At low levels I often use a large shield instead of tower (5 pounds saved), and chain shirt instead of full plate (20 pounds saved -- 10 better than chain mail). Put every potion and scroll into a bag of holding, then hotkey them -- you can use them straight out of the bag. As a shifter, choose a weapon like dagger for now as it's very low weight. Prepare to be wearing a str belt or other item for quite a while. Look forward to the prismatic dragon armor at level 29 for it's 5 pound weight. Use bulls str from potions, items (e.g. Yurg's Might ring), or other player casters, though it's currently bugged to max at +4 -- this will probably be fixed next update.
In addition to phalthallus' suggestion of pots, there are some stoneskin potions in Rips. They're not very high level so aren't going to do anything at Farm for instance, but I found them to be pretty useful for cutting down damage in tower orcs and earlier. I have seen people use Shadow Shield potions for the +5 natural AC and +3/10 no-limit reduction. The Potions of Speed are always something I stock up on as the +4 AC and extra attack is always welcome.

I've had several toons that cannot carry their own equipment without extra STR. Begin with a Bag of Holding or 4, with heals and Bull Strength potions, and some Lesser Ogre Power gloves. As levels/cash allow, upgrade these to get as much STR as you need.

You don't really need any save feats as long as you remain shifted the majority of the time. Go for Epic Skill Focus Discipline if you haven't already. Max Wisdom for AC and ability DCs.

Hi all. I've read here about the "Epic Transmutation" and "Legendary Transmutation". When you talk about the epic transmutation, do you mean the "epic spell focus: transmutation" book? And what about legendary transmutation? how will two both affect the toon described at this thread?
Thanks all.

Heya guys! I would like to know 2 things: - what is the need of improved critical (unarmed strike)?? Does it work for your shifted forms, or is it creature weapon and epic creature weapon specialization used in those cases??? Cause if it works only unshifted, why not to use a weapon and stick with it??? - what are the typical end saves of this build with anarch? I was looking at cath build, and it uses luck, lightning reflexes and great fortitude, along with LL versions of them... and heard someone saying u wont need saves as long u remain shifted... are those saves stacked with the shifted forms?? And what values are we talking about? over 60? over 70?
Ty in advance, Nath.

As a shifter, you have plennnnntyyyy of feats. Saves often go over 70 in shifted form, but usually hover around mid-60. Imp Crit Unarmed works in shifted form, but how often are you gonna be meleeing? I'd skip it, as well as creature wep spec. You could drop a few save feats for Great Cons pre-LL. Basically, just get your normal, unshifted saves above 60, because you WILL be vulnerable between shapes (can you shift from one shape to another?), and you'll still occasionally need to rez people, and of course you might be stunned/dommed/etc and be stuck in unshifted form for a few rounds.
And afaik, all forms RAISE saves.
