-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GRRRRR
OK, so my PC was completely fine when I went to be last night. I left it on like I always do. After it's been inactivefor a few minutes, it shuts the moniter down and it enters a power save mode
This morning I wake up and head to my computer. I hit the "spacekey" just like I always do, but nothing happens. I hit it again and still nothing happens. So I unplug ALL the wires....(plug them back in of course) and STILL nothing happens.
So I'm a bit confused, what would make a computer enter permanent "sleep/hibernation" mode?
I also hit the "auto detect" button on the computer, it says to either hit an key on the keyboard OR press the power button. I've tried both but NOTHING is working. All I see is a black screen.....

Is your montior burnt out? This happened on my laptop a while ago, and I had the same reaction you are having,"Why won't this thing turn on??" If you're using a laptop or flat panel monitor, the backlights can burn out on them (as far as I'm told) making the screen black. I think backlight burn-out is a common problem and not terribly difficult (or expensive)to repair. Just offering suggestions. I'm not very computer savvy.

I don't think th moniter is burnt out, when I hit the "auto-detect" button, it pops up with a message saying, "Hit anykey or press the computer power button to cancel power save mode." Of course when I do so nothing happens and I'm still stuck.
That's about all I can see is the messages saying it's in power save mode. Even after rebooting the computer, I get hte entering powersave mode when I turn it on and then all goes blank.

Will it boot in safe mode? Try turning off all powersave options through safe mode?

I can't get it to boot in safemode cause as soon as I boot up the screen says it's entering "power save mode"

that doesnt seem right, because safe mode is done via the bios, and afaik, only windows can cause the computer to enter "power save mode".
Quick question though: Have you done and BIOS customization that you really would like to keep?
Reason i ask is because if not, i would recommend opening your computer up, and popping the button cell out of the motherboard. This will reset your bios to factory default, and *should* clear up your issue if it is bios related.
