Ok.....see if anyone likes this idea.....
Quasiclass : Forsaker :
Requirements
Monk - 9 Levels, Barbarian 11 Levels
Feats needed by level 20 --> Iron Will, Great Fortitude, Lightning Reflexes and must have strong soul taken at first level.
Description
Magic is evil. Believe not in the mystical powers but in the purity of soul. A forsaker seeks to destroy the belief in survival by magic. Only the heardiest and purest souls can undertake this journey.
Benefits
Upon becoming a forsaker the PC must denounce all items magical and mundane. Only normal equipment may be maintained.
At level 20 of experience : Forsaker automatically gains 15+1/lv +10 Spell resistance. The forsaker also takes on a 20% conceal bonus. Maybe even add regen similar to that of a pariah. They would have a 85 spell resist.
At every other level (Retroactive?)the forsaker gains the following benefits : +1 points to Dodge, Deflection, Armor, shield and Natural Armor class: (This means a level 60 Forsaker would have an inherent ac of 100 - Not including dex and wisdom)
Now for the tricky part.....How do you accomodate the lack in weaponry....
Maybe have some sort of scripting set up that once per week the forsaker turns in an item to a random NPC to be destroyed and in doing so they enchant their unarmed attacks allowing them to bypass Damage reduction based on the power of item destroyed? For example......A dis weapon would maybe provide a +13 enhancement where a phleg weap would provide a +15. A level 29 weap might provide a +9 possibly....
Just some thoughts.....
Classes are so gear dependant in most cases it takes away from the focus of the class abilities in most cases. Obviously each class still has its role no matter what....i was just thinking of a unique opposite side of the spectrum.
Please respond with thoughts and opinions.....
Thanks
Niarte
