Here's a gigantic spreadsheet I have been building over the last year or so to help me generate builds outside of game (noone thinks twice about a huge excel sheet open at your desk at work!) TJ was kind enough to host it for me. (Hosted by Funky now){Edit by Funky} -Paradoom is maintaining this now. He has also created a version that works better with Excel 2013, which you can download here: (Also Hosted by Funky){/Edit by Funky} It's an excel sheet. I wasn't able to put it on google docs as it has too much conditional formatting and other functionality. When I try to upload it it breaks horribly. What does it do? You can type into any YELLOW cell (don't cut and past and don't type into other cells or you will break it). If you input all your abilities, skills, and feats it will generate most of what you need to determine if a build works. It will give you AC, AB, attack progression, skill totals, bonus feat levels etc... It calculates some DC's, and if you check the other tabs you can get some more details about where the ab/ac etc.. is coming from. What it doesnt do: It does not tell you WHICH feats you can take based on pre-reqs. It does not know what feat you want unless you type it in exactly. It misses out on a few classes features as well - basically classes I havent built since i built the tool. It misses a few quasi bonus's as well. It's not a perfect tool by a LONG shot. I was going to wait until i "finished" it before I posted it, but it's clear that that will never happen. It will perpetually be unfinished. If folks post features/bugs that would be useful I'm happy to add them in, but I've run out of steam on my own (I only update it as I build a new toon and with 20-30 running around in hells now i'm pretty tapped on builds). Feedback is appreciated.

Known bugs/missing features
- PM AC ismissing
- Shifters are an utter disaster for ab/ac/etc.. (I doubt ill add this).
- Weapon chart is based on proposed weapon changes and therefore not necessarily correct at this time - Open for suggestions.
- ranged weapons dont dual wield
- Some quasi's bonus's still missing - i.e. pariah dex - would need comprehensive list of quasi pre-req's and effects halfling ranged ac bonus
- skill validation ranges should only include lesser skill point totals for cross class skills (currently you can, for example, put 43 tumble points in at lvl 40 for any class)
- Pre-req's for feats - This will likely never get done as it would be a gargantuan addition to the sheet.
-Skill Focus and ESF are not adding to total skill calculations

Woo hoo, this is awesome. Now I don't have to spend so much time in the test chamber, which only goes to 40 anyway.

I've found 3 errors in your sheet so far, shard: - First, your dex AB calculation is looking at (template,M9)(INTMOD) for the dex mod, when it should be looking at (template,m6)(DEXMOD) instead.
- Second, your calculation for pre-epic attacks is currently =MIN(FLOOR(AF1/AA13;1;1);AE8), which is incorrect. Replacing FLOOR with CEILING (yes, this is one of the only places in DnD where you should round up instead of down) should fix this, but see the next item.
- The number of attacks for monk weapons isn't being calculated correctly when they're being wielded by a monk. I haven't looked into this one, so I really don't know how to fix it. It may also be an openoffice.org problem, rather than a problem with your sheet.
Note that I found these problems while using openoffice.org, rather than ms excel (which I don't have). The first 2 problems, however, should show up in excel as well. One other thing: It took several rounds of fiddling with the subrace filters to get the subrace I wanted to show up in the list. I'm not certain why this is, tho. Again, this may simply be an openoffice.org problem, and I was eventually able to get the subrace I wanted to show up. --Arek

Yes, I can confirm that the first point Arek posted is a problem in Excel 07 as well. I was wondering why my wizard was getting such a good AB. Is there a way to unlock the other subraces you have hidden under the filter? I want to play around with Nobarian, which you have listed, but isn't accessible as one of the choices in the template sheet.

If you look at the "subrace" sheet, there are headings at the top for Race, Subrace, Rarity, etc - these are dropdowns, which set filters on what subraces you can choose on the "template" sheet. It may take a bit of fiddling to get the subrace you want to be selectable on the template, tho (it did for me). The sheet defaults to BUR subraces, so you'll need to set that to either UR or Any, in order to get Nob to show. :-)
One question, buddhamind: Does your wizard have Weapon Finesse? If not, the AB calculator may have a bigger problem than I thought.

I've uploaded the latest version which has a few fixes and upgrades. Take a look at it let me know if you still see these problems?
I recently made a few adjustments to mnk attacks and dex mod (bug introduced when I added intuitive attack). Let me know if these fixes have solved the ab and attack problems you are seeing. If not, tell me which cells you think are giving the wrong numbers and I can check more closely.
I know the floor/ceiling bug was definately fixed in a recent revision.
As to the subrace issue... I don't see that when I use it. Even if I have filtered to BUR subraces on the subrace page, I still see all the subraces as available in the dropdown. However, I actually never use the dropdowns to select so maybe i have missed this. I just type in the races I want (same for feats its much faster). The dropdown validation acts as a check to make sure I spelled it correctly for the forumlas to work.
Please let me know if you still see problems.
thanks for the feedback.

Looks like the AB Issue, Floor/Ceiling, and Monk Attacks have all been fixed with this one, Shard. Thanks. :-)
One minor bug: If you take LSA, you cannot take the skill it enables as a class skill until the next level. Currently, your sheet allows for taking the skill as a class skill on the same level as the LSA. (seen when taking LSA: Discipline on a WIP Open-Sub build I just entered into the tool)
To see the issue with subraces, try entering Gnome as your race and Svirfneblin as your subrace, and/or getting that combination to appear in the list of available subraces. I actually got an "Invalid Data" error by typing it in manually. If it works for you, then this is most likely a problem with OpenOffice.org, not with your sheet, and I wouldn't sweat it.

i downloaded it and it has a build in it, is there a quick erase or do I need to empty each box?

You can just highlight the areas with info in them and delete the contents (not formatting and such, tho).
A "quick-erase" feature would be nice, tho...along with a feature to turn off dual-wielding and flurry/rapidshot. :-)
