The update board in game talks about Speed Potion packs and Ability Potion Packs. I found the latter, but not the former, and I looked everywhere I could think of.

Any of those include the restoration vulnerability in hells? Or the anti-exploit positions in beholders (those are still keeping me away from beholders with any of my hell toons - especially my shifter)? The beholder anti-exploits should have been fixed a few updates ago, actually. And I put in a tentative fix for the restoration problem in the Hells. If you could do some testing to see if it worked, that would be much appreciated. Acaos

Presumably after completing the hells 5 times (that's gotta be a small % of the HG population) you'd have no need to defeat Asmo a 6th time (as there'd be no benefits) so you'd play all layers except for Nessus, or at least play a different character for the final battle...? ...Unless I've completely misunderstood this...

Of course not. Once you collect all of Asmo's artifacts on a single character and put them ALL on, a giant rift tears through time and space and puts you... some...where......
Beholders... time to pay another visit!

I would wager a giant rift appears.. and explodes the party.. Anyhow.. like the reducing hell penalty for more trips.. Suggest: changing purple glow to some other colour after the last nessus run.. to indicate you are a 5 time demi.. as opposed to 'just another demi'... My god.. this means Delf will have to keep playing!

Then I could just muck around and help others on runs. 9 more Nessus trips!??! Yeeesh. Thats half again what I've already completed!!

Trazik I can confirm that the Speed Packs are in-game. If you haven't found them, you might not have tried every "merchant". Make sure to poke around every corner of town.

Sorry if wrong thread, but would it be too overpowered to let you select an additional feat at 3.,4. and 5. Demigod run ?, or maybe a final bonus that lets you have something nice to look forward too and strive after. Dont have to be a powerful thing, just something so itll not feel so wasted to run the same character up to 5 ! times through Hells, which is (edit: somehow last part of this sentence was gone) quite an accomplishment. Penalty reduction is fine, but the only effects is it makes the next run through Hells (and Hells only) a little less painful, not really a "wow, that was worth it" experience. For clerics, its not really much of a difference, as they greater restore themselves. Didnt smoke anything today , just a carefully phrased suggestion.

All this excessive tagging and re-tagging is making me not want to play the mod anymore. I think I would find it tedious and unnecessary to tag a character all the way down to Nessus five times... that's 45 hell runs on one character. I remember when I heard about demigod status, I thought, "hey, that's pretty cool." Then, when I heard about double-demi, I thought to myself, "that seems a little silly." Now you're talking about doing it five times, and I'm wondering... isn't this just an excuse to extend the play life of your mod without creating new areas? I mean, it's kind of hard to invent new areas after you've already made the nine layers of Hell, though Rona seems pretty cool from what I've heard. Really, though, if it were left up to me, I'd give the standard demigod penalties, reset the skull once, and once you beat Asmodeus a second time the skull won't ever reset again, but you also don't get the second +2 to abilities.
The way this mod is going, most people will never finish, even with a single character. A lot of gamers like to finish. I'm one of them, and having such an impossibly long road ahead of me is rapidly turning my interest to other games, CRPGs in particular - games I have a hope of completing. As it stands, I'm thinking my first successful Nessus run may just have to be the last time anyone sees me on HG, I just don't have the time or will to beat up that archdevil 44 more times with my Paladin alone. A single victory in the ninth layer will probably have to be the completion I seek. Not that anyone said I had to play the mod, of course. This is just my perspective on the matter, and you're free to do with it what you will.

This is just my perspective on the matter, and you're free to do with it what you will. I think you're looking at it the wrong way. IMO, the incentive to defeat Asmo 5 times is for people who like to focus on one character only, and therefore they gain reduced hells penalties for next time they go back - while also gaining some very nice loot on their travels (which is easier to get with the reduced penalties). Deating Asmo twice is more the 'end-point' of the game (in my eyes), as that takes your character to the most powerful they can be, while the penalty reduction is really just icing for the hardcore addicts. One of the best things about this server is it's replayability, which is largely due to the class edits/quasi-classes etc - you can't really expect new areas all the time, especially considering it's a FREE server.

To me, defeating Asmodeus on my primary toons even once has a profound sense of completion/accomplishment. If I wanted to move on leaving HG today I could do so feeling satisfied that I "finished this game". But It's also nice to have a goal in mind since I don't plan on leaving HG today, or the foreseeable future.
