Ah sorry Niilo meant to get back to you on this
Didn't know you made a thread, every time I check the forums lately I forget to tab open the builds and stuff ...
Anyway others had great input; here's mine:
Ditch IoF...it's not that there are too few tanks in hc (which is true anyway) it's just that...the tanks that are played in runs where IoF would make a big difference...are already not really needing it for various reasons...and the people playing them generally have an overload of toons to pick from in the first place...
Sure, with summons nerf and this new two hand damage there's been a bunch of new tanks been rolled but meh...let's see how often they really get ran in Hell...and let's see who of our group would look you straight in the eye with your open sub pure ploder first toon and say wtf y u dint get IoF nub...
No one, because it's not that big of a deal, sure I heard about how great IoF was since I made my first ploder but the day I see legions of tanks demanding it, that's the day I will take it seriously...especially for you who soloes or duos for the majority of your play time...focus on making your toon good on its own and you can have fun on your own, don't get something just to help toons that may not exist on runs that lord knows when you will finally do...
As far as paragon planning goes, well you know my view on getting a toon to 50 for better subs and starting over...I wouldn't bother even thinking about PLs. Let's work on getting you a WS-tagged toon first
Anyway I say screw IoF and Abj, don't drop ER or Miracle, and without LSF your open sub will not be having a joyful time landing destructs or whatever else; without LSP well let's not go there
Others have pointed out the great benefits of Aegis and I agree but as we've all griped about time and again, the duration is a joke and honestly the normal spell buff benefits of Abj outweigh Aegis by far if you ask me. And even then...meh.
Deso and EKoD are wise here on various things...good advice. Particularly on the skill points...and yes as far as cause wounds goes, maybe others have something to contradict this and for all I know there may be some legit use in the runs I've never done but in my experience they are quite useless for multiple reasons, and I think Heal ranks would only be useful to you for actually healing--thinking Healing Circle in particular here--and whether or not that's worth it is personal preference but my opinion is LOL HEALING CIRCLE?! LOL HEAL RANKS!? go Tumble as EKoD says, anything is better than nothing.
My first immo ploder was basically designed around the support route, Aegis, IoF, etc. and guess what: that toon was useless and dead weight, sure it died at level 48 (or so, can't remember) but even at near 50 even Desert mobs were not going down easily...maybe it was mainly useless dead weight due to the parties and runs it was on at the time but honestly it felt like a pretty complete joke of a toon to me and it was extremely disappointing to watch all my well-intentioned support build theories fall on their face.
Make a toon that can be useful for its own sake as a priority. There is definitely nothing "we" can't live without as far as party buffs go...and let's be honest, how soon are you going to be taking that toon up against mobs with +16 DR anyway...and if that time comes and there's a tank in the party whining...I will laugh.
Sounds harsh? Maybe, but the only still-living persistent Hellrunning tanks of the recent past I can think of belong to one of 2 players, both of which have an overabundance of toons in the first place, and I highly doubt you will catch flak from anyone if your lack of IoF seriously impacts run success. Additionally these toons from what I see do extremely well on their own/with "normal" buffs as it is, and also I don't think there is a complete lack of IoF amongst us in the first place. Again, due to recent changes, maybe the tide is turning a bit and we'll see more tanks but the sad truth is that we can't AFFORD to have too many tanks on a run as it is...
So there you go...
