Too Big To Fail Accursed Pariah (Barbarian 20 / Sorcerer 20) (I would like to thank Fallenwizard for sharing his Pariah build with all of us. I really enjoy playing my Pariah and thus was inspired to create this build from my experiences.)
Why this Build: [/center] After the Changes to Pariahs I was encourged to re-build this to take current events into account. I did my best and think this will still work for players wanting to try out Pariahs and see what they think.
Build Pros: On achieving Accursed Pariah status at level 17 or 18, the character is automatically given Armor Skin and Automatic Still Spell I-III as bonus feats. The Accursed Pariah's base Dexterity score is set to 6, his Charisma increased by 4, and he is transformed into a Large stone appearance. The Accursed Pariah is under a constant regeneration effect, regenerating 5% of their maximum hit points every 3 seconds. Curing and healing spells do not function on the Accursed Pariah. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Accursed Pariah uses sorcerer level + barbarian level (including legendary levels if control class is sorcerer or barbarian) to determine caster level for all sorcerer spells. His caster level is capped at his current Constitution score. Accursed Pariahs use the standard Spell Penetration calculation except when under the effects of Barbarian Rage, where the Pariah: Uses their Constitution score as their base spell penetration for Transmutation spells. Gains +2 SP to non-Transmutation spells The Accursed Pariah uses Constitution to determine DCs for all spells. He also receives an additional +1 to DC for all Transmutation spells. Other Pros: 30% physical damage immunity (Using the Stone Bones spell) Huge regeneration that will in most cases allow you to use an immunity ring and a caster or status immunity ring. When properly geared a pariah can have a respectable armor class and damage immunities (Making it more forgiving for newer players then a pure robed caster). Build Cons: Large Size. (But you consider anything smaller than you a snack No Curing or Healing spells work on you. (But you will save a fortune on healing potions) The Back Story:Gruce Gannar was a mild mannered technical gnome, he kept his nose clean and in his work, never made waves. But that was until a failed attempt to install cup holders in the new Gnx 75.221 gnomish assault vehicle exposed him to massive amounts of gamma radiation. Shortly after this incident, he was dishonorably discharge from his technical unit for uncontrollable anger issues and a disturbing incident involving one of his superiors and the misuse of a GVs Marc 2 compost toilet. The gnomish private sector was no kinder to Gruce as he failed to complete his court ordered anger management treatment and developed an uncontrollable habit of late night snacking. Gruce’s overeating, total disregard for hygiene and explosive temper were enough to make him an outcast in gnomish society, and thus it was that he became an Accursed Pariah who is shunned by all.

All the Rage: "When under the effects of Barbarian Rage, the Accursed Pariah uses his Constitution score as his base spell penetration."
Always remember to rage before casting and remember think before you rage as you only have 6 rages per rest. Auto-caster Spells: The following spells should be set in your autocaster (You can get an autocaster free from the "Item Shop" in town.)
Use your radial menu to cast these spells right on your autocaster then; type !list autocaster in the dialog line to check that the spells all registered correctly. - Stone Bones - Displacement - Empowered Lesser Spell Mantle - Elemental Shield - Endure Elements - Protection from Alignment - Expeditious Retreat
Once you have acquired a Rare or Ultra Rare Sorcerers staff get in the habit of using the features of your staff during your buffing cycle.
- Shadow Shield - Epic Mage Armor - Epic Warding - Greater Spell Mantle
Are just a few of the extremely useful features that can be found on staffs. Quick Slots: Quick slots (As shown below) are a caster's best friend. Think about the placement of your spells carefully, as an extra second hunting around your quick slots is likely to mean death in a tough fight. An Accursed Pariah can not use any form of healing except regeneration. Thus you need to buy yourself time to heal. To this end I always set F1 and control F1 to Ghostly Visage which with legendary focus should give you 36 seconds of invulnerability to reposition and heal. A Pariah regenerates roughly 150 hit points every 3 seconds thus 36 seconds of healing equals roughly 1800 hit points. So if you start taking damage hit F1 to reposition and regenerate. Try to keep the spells you use most often as accessible as possible, and since at the beginning you will not have lots of spell slot gear, use your meta magic feats to increase the number of casts of a particular spell you have. (Notice how I placed all the elemental damage spells next to each other and then layered their meta versions in the same slots on the other slot bars. Please Note the bars below are an example only please refer to and set the new spells selected for this build. The spreadsheet below explains gearing theory and should allow you to make educated choices when picking gear for your Pariah.

The Stores: Scrolls of Resurrection (Lots of them)(Item Shop)
Heal Packs (Lots of them) or Beaker of Endless Healing(Its good to be too big to fail!)
Gems of Teleportation (Item Shop or Merchants) Pearls (Merchants) Stone Eaters Rings (Merchants)
Lesser Restoration Packs (Druid Grove)
Negative Energy Protection Potions (Rips) Clarity Potions for Daze (Rips) Avants Cosmic Suiciders (Rips Bartender)
Scrolling: I highly recommend making a low level Wizard character to scribe scrolls. Below is a list of scrolls that always come in handy:
Black Blade of Disaster Mordenkainen's Disjunction Stone to Flesh Gust of Wind Greater Sanctuary
Farming: Ask in game and players can direct you to several locations where these items drop as set loot.
Potions of Greater Sanctuary (Generally a loot Item but can be farmed or purchased) Shadow Shield Potions Potions of Premonition
Loot Splits: During loot splits always be on the look out for the following items, they are always useful.
Breach Balls Moderately Escapable Force Cages Potions of the Third Eye Seeds of the Tree of Life Greater Sanctuary Potions Apport Arcane

Playing a Caster 101: If you are standing in the middle of a bunch of monsters getting beat on, then you are playing a tank not a caster.
Don't micro manage spawns, learn to view them as a whole and recognize what damage types will be most effective on the whole.
Start every spawn with death magic, Wierd, Circle of Death, followed by a Great Thunder Clap if there are monsters susceptible to knockdown in the spawn.
If there are no party kick back monsters in the spawn Evards Black Tentacles should be up at all times. If it gets gusted, recast it immediately.
Know what damage types are best on what. And even more importantly what heals on what. Study the spreadsheet below and try to memorize the monsters you see often.
Positioning is life and death for a caster, learn to let the tanks go in first and lock up the monsters then initiate destruction!
Use the Wiki and study the spawns before the run starts so that you know what you need to do and what to cast.
Learn to cast using your keyboard it is much faster than point and click.
There is no shame in using Greater Sanctuary or Ghostly Visage, the only shame is in not doing it fast enough.
(I would like to thank Rooj for sharing his very useful list with all of us.) [gsheet]0At9ufrD1Vb-hdGRUYlQzaEcwNlVZWVdva1hlem1zRVE[/gsheet]

Pariahs are redonkulous on HG. One only needs to look to the spell list itself to see there is nice coverage of damage and instant death spells. That will likely not last forever and I'd really like you to adjust the build once official changes are made.
I like the scrolly feat list and information in general. They look nice and are easy to read. I really don't like the "distractions" that are cluttering this build.... too many pictures and while they are funny it is really hard to find the information. More is less.

This build is no longer valid. Might be worth noting in the title, or moving the build to archives.
Don't want a new player starting it thinking it will work as written. Or rumor has it Bad is back, if he wants to edit it.

How about fixing the build instead of disgarding it.

We can move this back if you choose to edit it. KC did a caster pariah build. He did not want any compensation for his time BTW which he is entitled to. I'd be happy to move this back if you would like to salvage the hard work you put into formatting/additional information.

Thank you Tyran I was going to suggest the move and it was quite considerate of you to let me know.
I do plan on re-building it in the next week or so to take advantage of the current capabilities of the Pariah.

You did actually win a lot of prizes for this build and the other. You should get items from a DM if you have not already. I'm glad you are still interested in retooling it since there is a lot of effort wasted otherwise. Let me know when you're done.
