I just came across this today and I'm feeling optimistic about it. This could be the next platform to take HG since NWN 2 was so horrid lol. What do you all think? Shards Online

It looks very promising! I wonder in how far it can be "Just like hg"!

Looks very promising indeed! Can't wait to see if they fulfill all their promises by keeping it f2p with no in-game shop like most games end up doing.

This sounds promising too:
The basic ruleset offers a way for mortals to earn their way to immortality on their own, but LUA scripting will allow server admins to customize their shard to change or remove this capability, along with a plethora of other choices. Derek thinks that good customization and servers with active, friendly admin will be the successful ones that players will gravitate toward.
If I'm not mistaken we already use LUA scripting on this server so a small(if any) learning curve. Actually, this already sounds like our server.

Nice -- here's the company website: shardsonline.com/They're doing the old-skool model: buy once and play online for free. Assuming retail price is reasonable, I'm willing to give it a look

It does look nice, but I am wondering if you can zoom in the camera. I don't really like high up view.
