Then it's not a terrible idea altogether, is it? Any argument based on the premise that anything increasing runtimes is automatically bad, is seriously flawed, and will not get any traction with the dev team. It's akin to saying 'you should always only make things easier', which basically tosses aside the concept of balancing altogether. Funky It is also seriously flawed to assume I meant making things easier all the time. I want to make them faster. This is a difference without distinction, since you were posting in opposition to a change that would increase difficulty...and thereby run time. Come on, now. Well then it will relieve you to learn that I am as well. Funky

I don't think timing was ever mentioned, unless I missed something somewhere. Other than in the sentence you're quoting, you mean? I agree. That's one of the major reasons we release nerfs with big new updates. And why I mentioned when the edits would be dropping. *COUGH COUGH*. :P Frankly, I'm still leaning towards CDs on the problem spells, which are least likely to impact the kind of players you are talking about, and much more likely to target the problem spells. Funky Sorry, but the post I quoted from you was _after_ my original post where I mentioned my concerns and suggested a phased approach. The only other timing post from you (Funky) said that changes likely wouldn't happen until after, which doesn't rule before out. If the edits come after/with Mechanus, then that seems fine to me. Woku also DM'd me about the timing question, and I maintain that "I would really wish that Mechanus wouldn't revolve around player epic/paragon spell use and instead on character abilities of other types, gearing and spells" is fair to read as "nerfs should happen before/with mechanus so that mechanus tactics dont rely on the current brokenness." I'm arguing FOR cool downs, and AGAINST bios+ not replenishing epics, if that wasn't clear. My visceral reaction is to the possibility of bios+ not replenishing epics. There are two suggestions here, and I think there isn't enough clarity being used when talked about them because there are a few groups of people here who tend to disagree with each other, and sometimes clarity is lost when people are disagreeing. I just want to make sure that if the changes are made, they are made in a way that doesn't alienate the lower 90% of the player base who does have to rely on bios+ to get through runs sometimes, because I think making bios+ not replenish epics will be overall harmful to the well-being of the server.

Yeah cause just making it harder and therefore increasing runtime without any timeeffective compensation, is a bad idea. Doesn´t mean I am against increasing difficulty. I think the spawnrates should be adjusted accordingly.

The obvious issue is recovering epic/paragon spells with consumables. I think this post is where we got pretty sidetracked and went down a dark hole, because it seems like many people feel as though recovering ISNT the obvious issue, just the frequency of use is. Some were reacting to this (myself included) in addition to reacting to the other points presented in the OP. It's hard when one person says "X is the obvious issue" and other people are saying that "Y is probably the issue" and people are posting in real time, which means posts are popping up while people are typing that either answer questions or invalidate concerns.

Most of my biorejuvenator uses are for recovering epics and abilities after crashing out of the game. As long as the loss of use epics and abilities continues when logging back onto a server, there needs to be options for a quick recovery.

Have you played a phone game where you can buy accelerators/boosts?
That's a bio in a nutshell. A premium time saver / power increase. You use it and stuff that you are supposed to use every 5-10 minutes is useable again in 12 seconds.
That being said, by nerfing consumables or adding timers, you will affect party composition, increase elitist party making and increase runtime. But that is expected when you throw the word nerf around.

Now karsus killed all caster damage without it.
I'd say removing autoempower and putting some spell damage based on level in addition to lore could get caster to damage closer to tank damage at higher levels.

Surely the other bios are for the required use in a bad spawn instead of ring resting.

Interesting thought there Prep, as you are so innocent.
Just pointing out a fallacy in the post above.

Honestly, if it was somehow possible to prevent this from happening that would make mine and many others' day. I crashed several times on my last run and I was seething - but it is indeed a good defense in favour of keeping some sort of recovery for quick recovery access intact.

So the separate issue is losing epics on crash.

So the separate issue is losing epics on crash. part of an anti-exploit, losing epics on crash is a sad, but necessary side effect
