Anybody have thoughts on replacing leonal form with some divine outsider shape that has divine resistance or immunity? How much do people actually use Leonal? Wouldn't a Celestial avenger make more sense? Or may be a lantern archon if you think a divine immune avenger is unbalanced.

I really like the Leonal form. It has a lot of handy uses. I don’t think any changes should be made.

Do you use it for anything else? *sigh* xkcd.com/1172/Well, we certainly can't get rid of the Modron. It is just too cool (particularly for us Torment players who have a nostalgic fondness for Nordom) It is probably not possible to get rid of Azer chieftain. Still, we have lower and neutral outsiders. Shouldn't we have one from the upper planes?

It’s also very strong as just a tank. Damage isn’t amazing but is extremely sturdy and that’s what I use it for most frequently.

You seem to hastily jump into conclusions before having the intel first. Get to know the server (and shifter) better first, then you'll see the balance aspects better.

I am mainly just looking for divine immunity for dilettantes like me who are not able to binge play. :-D I’m sure the vet’s are shaking their head knowing that there is some 75% divine immunity helmet or boot item you can get at level 55 or some such. I do think it would help gameplay for shifters, having a divine shape to add to their strategy. I do also feel it would be good from a role play/immersion stand point. I have had fun fighting dragons as Nordom.

(Demonflesh made me feel less guilty about slaughtering children and then their Mom, who left _tears_. Did the devs really have to choose the cutest portraits for that encounter?!) I’ll give Leonal a try.

Okay, Leonal is fun, but I do still think shifter should have access to a divine immune form. Aren't Leonals basically feline hound archons? Couldn't they get divine immunity? Or could we replace Leonal with Hound Archon (same abilities but with divine immune)?

We're not going to change the various forms. We picked them carefully after looking at the available shapes and what could be made to work.
I'm open to editing their characteristics, though I'm not sure why they would merit a form immune to divine damage.
Funky

I don't think Shifters need any changes at this point. Both caster and melee builds are strong but not OP and the time it takes to acquire the feats to get them to that point is appropriate.
would be nice to have, sure, but hard to make a strong case for it

I am really having so much fun, and you have really breathed life into the game: - Jack-of-all-trades: Flitting invisibly among enemies as a pixie. Trapping corridors as a commando. Beating golems to a pulp as a dragon. Raining death from above as a Rakshasa. - Role playing: A spy walking among drow as a drow (really using invisibility, but also using imagination) Taking out a dragon as a lowly wyrmling. I often go Cube for the win. I just hoped to add to the jack-of-all tradedness. The Baelnorn is great in positive energy areas or against negative mobs (living darknesses, anybody?) I figured a Leonal, if it is some sort of celestial, could serve the same purpose for divine areas or mobs (and with those darn divine exploding statues)
